Motor Trend, however, liked the Challenger over the GT500. It said that the Challenger offers "Broad-shouldered good looks, thundering Hemi power, and savvy chasis tuning...(and) old school muscle." The GT500 while "still an eye-catcher, and sensationally fast (has an) archaic chassis and whiney motor."

Cuda thanks for the skinny and I liked what I read because for all purposes it may not be about out doing the other guy as the Gt500 can more than hand the Challenger its butt.
I'm getting the vibe this Challenger is a real smooth road car from all the reviews, thats a big deal and its able to handle the twisties.

I wonder how many Gt500 do you think you'll run across out there that may be the question, and with the trak pak the challenger times may only de-crease with practice at the track not to mention the mods available.
The 75 hp difference and weight may be equaled out with a few K of mods for the challenger thats is if its needed.

How much is that GT500?
I thought it was up there in cost so at some point to put a limit on the madness may be the only way not to end up in the poor house trying to keep up with the Joneses here.
I'm liking what I reading so far its all good!
Thanks man for those great vids as well.

Re: Challenger Road Tests/Reviews

GT500s are about 48K fully loaded. Mine is fully loaded and still doesn't even compare to the Challenger as far as comforts go. I can see the six spd really dropping those numbers and then with a new intake/exhaust maybe new heads and cam, and it'll be close. The prices will be really close too.

Re: Challenger Road Tests/Reviews

With just the few mods I have, I beat my buddy's GT500. It was not by much but I did win. With the cost of my mods, Im just now hitting the price range of a GT500 and winning the race. Not to mention I have Navigation, heated seats, etc.

The modding is available, its just costly on these cars lol.

$48k for a GT500? Yea right, It's hard to find one used for that price lol. I know they MSRP near that, but most dealers wont take less than $50-55k

Re: Challenger Road Tests/Reviews

MSRP is what I was referring to, I should have said that it's hard to get one at that price. Usually it takes 5K over to get one. That's pretty fully loaded up too. The Mustang's nav unit is absolute garbage. I opted for the big stereo instead, it has subs in the trunk and is nice, but it's not a Kicker system!

Hopefully the after market will develop on the 6.1 and bring the prices down.

That's awesome about the GT500 race. Hopefully the six spd will even things out a little better.

Yea i was surprised about the race. I thought for sure he would take me easy if we both rolled into the pedal to keep traction. but every time i got out a little in 1st and then a little more in each gear. I think the 6 spd would help, but as to how much i wont know until i own one
