Re: Challenger Tires
I had this same issue when building my car as well which ones to order with the car I went with the perf tires soley because the rears are a bit wider then the fronts.
Im buying all seasons from tire rack with a set of rims like the ones attached to this post.

Re: Challenger Tires
Hey now those are Shelby rims can't have those on a Challenger! LOL. Make sure you check the clearance on the calipers for those style wheels. It seemed to sneak up and get alot of the Shelby guys who got bigger brakes then they had to upgrade the wheels.
I really wish the KDW 2s came in a size for the stock rims, those were great wet weather tires when i had em on the SRT4.

Re: Challenger Tires
Thanks for the tip I was thinking the same thinig the rims are a little deep dish and may prove to be a problem.
I noticed the snake and just laughed to myself thinking best of both worlds. The so called beater rims will be a fun project I will most likely use them at the track as well as for winter driving. This reminds me of when I bought my Rv last year I outfitted the thing to the teeth for what ever I may runacross and I think Im about doing the same for this car as well. The wife is gonna kill me... This is way off topic but I test drove a r8 today for ****s and giggles,Holy god what a car!I thought my vette sat low! I really want a viper though and the Audi was incredible but it just didnt do anything for me like the higher end mopar seem to do.Dont get me wrong it was a stunning car but seemed a little pricey and not enough horses for $110,000 smakeroo's. Im a mopar guy deep down to my back pocket and I think Ill stay on that focus for now. Mopar or no car.

Re: Challenger Tires
I'm really surprised they even let you in one! I think they're cool cars, but just not for me. I think the next on my list will be a viper or maybe a Z06. I just can't bring myself to drive a foreign car.

Re: Challenger Tires
D1's are the way to go in warm weather.....but they suck in the rain, and forget about them in the snow. RSA's are decent in the snow and ice as long as you use your head, so so in the rain, and are a lot quieter overall. You can also at least roate them. Be careful if you ever have to use the can of Goop! Tirerack has some nice alternatives finally.

Re: Challenger Tires
I meant F1's....one other thing about the FQ when it is real cold..they will make a thumping sound as you back up and turn the wheel....but it has to be real COLD. Lot's of Charger owners were flipping out when it first happened, and taking their cars in for front end problems. It was just the F1's.

Upgraded to Pilot Sports which were great dry tires, but did not wear well. Tried the Potenza's and had similiar experience. Now I am using Michelin HydroEdge tires and loving them. Best of all worlds IMOHO. Good wet & dry performance and excellent wear factor. Nice aggressive tread design look to them and people on TireRack love em as well. Hope they will offer needed sizes for the SRT...
