Re: Challenger Tires
Hard for me to judge without actually seeing the car in person, But lots of rubber meeting the road is a must, I had two sets of rear tires for my old challenger and one set was 8 1/2 inch slicks the other street tires in the 60s range, the slicks worked great, still to much horseys for the 60s, and god could those slicks handle on that car even with the old style suspension.
As for the rims I always preferred the solid look , I had those tires matched up to Keystones (cant remember the name Centerlines maybe)I preferred that solid look as opposed to the slotted style at least on the Challenger. They were solid aluminum and meant racing specs. |

Re: Challenger Tires
Good question. I am sure the staggered set up will be helpful. My experience w/M3's has shown me this really keeps the oversteer down and understeer is negligable as long as you have good rubber on there.
Depending on what it comes w/ I may just go ahead and sell the OEM stuff and shod it w/ Mich. PS2's. Cannot lose w/those. As far as wheels, what ever I can find that is FORGED and very light weight. I have a history w/ SSR's, BBS and OZ so ... I would also like to see 18's up front and 19's in back. Remember this is where you can really slash unsprung weight. My SSR's weighed only 18 lbs. 20's are worthless and this is supported even in the ultra hot rods world of Porsche/Ferrai. Even the mighty 997 TT only runs 19's. I guess in that case I'm sorry to say if the car comes with thieves in business suits/CEO style wheels, those would be the first to go. Old school with this one, a modern rim like the ones already on the car, blacked out and widened out with a fat lip. |

Re: Challenger Tires
245 front 255-265 rear should be enough. I would like to see nice cornering tire I have a lot of back road that a lot of little racers think they can take
