Re: Challenger's Tranny

Well its retro, Why not be more retro, and add chrome around the grill, chrome bumpers, and chrome trim around the windows, and not look so plain and generic. Dont get me wrong, The bodystyle is fantastic, But all these new cars are pretty boring with no chrome or anything on them. It is a retro car, They could at least put some chrome on it and not be so cheap with some plastic bumpers.

Re: Challenger's Tranny

I loved my old Chargers 727 Torqueflite, but it wouldn't hold a candle to a modern automatic transmission. They could rename whatever tranny they have in mind to give it a "retro" designation, but that seems somehow.... wrong.

Just my opinion; your mileage may vary.

Re: Challenger's Tranny

I'd say put the highest tech automatic they have in their parts bin in it...

The 7G-TRONIC

Unless they have a better version of it?

This is of course for the Automatic Loving crowd like myself, a solid 6 Speed T56 manual (or better) should be available for the Clutch Lovin' Crowd

Re: Challenger's Tranny

it's more than likely gonna have a manual viper transmission.

4.10 gears are usually aftermarket but can probably be added on if the axle is the same size as the charger you can do it first week but the speedometer will be off.

Re: Challenger's Tranny

I still would have to go with a stick...I don't trust the automatic transmissions they make today.

Re: Challenger's Tranny

Its goin to have the same Termec as the viper, new camaro, corvette, mustang gt500, and anyother modern american car putting down this kind of power. The transmission is nearly indestructable and dodge has already decided on it, well, for at least the manual version.
