It is covered under the warranty, but for only 12 months.

just because our clutch is derived (our clutch is actually an upgrade of the viper form, two different part #'s) from the viper doesnt mean its bullet proof. you forget the viper is about 1k lbs lighter, and that makes a HUGE difference on the clutch regardless or power differences.

not to mention, alot of the viper guys swap their clutch out when modding because it cant really take the abuse.

Oh yeah... The depression has just set in. I was supposed to go out and meet a few friends tonight up in a nice little upsate N.Y. town. I was looking forward to the drive up. It has been raining all day and it just stopped. The sun is actually poking its head out.... Ahhhh hell. Looks like the wifes car tonight.
what really bothers me is that my brand new car is no longer brand new. It feels like it aged prematurely. It's really pissing me off.... 1250 f'in miles !!! 425 of them were driving back from the dealer for crying out loud.

Last night I took the wife out to dinner and when we got home she commented on the smell the car was making. I thought( and privately hoped) that it may have been a car in front of us. Yet when we parked, there was an acrid smell not unlike brakes(asbestos). I double checked to see if the parking brake was hanging up, but it was fine. I went in the house thinking, I must have run something over and I'll check it in the morning on my way to work.
So I leave this morning and the car smells fine. No issues. Work is about 20 miles away. Feels great. But at the last few blocks from the job, I notice the clutch feels real notchy when leaving a stopsign. Oh man..you have got to be kidding. Thoughts of 425's posts are dancing in my head. I start to smell the clutch.
So I pull into my job and park. When I get out, it felt like was punched in the face by the clutch smell. ...Son of a *&%$ !
Now I have gotten on the car a few times, but nothing, and I mean nothing that would have fried a clutch.
So after I get my workers on the road, I hightail it over to the local dealer. They were nice, but I felt very uncomfortable with them touching my car. Quite ham fisted. About 20 minutes later the guy comes out and tells me "we're gonna' order ya' a new clutch".... Holy sh!t... This car has 1250 miles on it and believe me, if I abused clutches my 6 speed R/T wich was driven the same way, never would have made it to 4000. So now I'm really bummed out. I need a clutch on a brand new car.....sux !
Please don't flame me about my poor skills on a clutch. I'm 45 years old, learned on a clutch, almost all of my cars were clutch and I ride a motorcycle for half of the year.... But if it makes folks feel better about this poorly designed clutch...then it was me.
Not saying you can't drive a clutch or abused it but...... how did you 'brake in' the new clutch?

I feel for ya. Gotta order one of the new clutches from DCX Tim and look at it like an upgrade mod! I wonder if we could replace the factory clutch with the new aftermarket piece and just put the warrenty replacement clutch on the shelf for later

I see.....That could be the problem...you might want to brake-in the new clutch properly: it takes 500mi and very hard to do... Been there done that
