Re: C'mon, Dodge, throw us a bone

Sometimes I think we are more excited about this car than DCX is. If it is a low volume, high priced car, than the few people who do get one will probably be paying a $20,000 plus mark up and ruining the whole chance of some poor shmuck makin' less than $75,000 a year of ever owning one. My cousin is in the publishing business and he meets a lot of people who are worth well into the 8 digit "Realm of Money". One gentlemen he knows has 5 million in an account just to feed his muscle car buying addiction. He once, at Barrett Jackson, bid $30,000 over what he planned on paying for a car just to hear the roar of the crowd. I just don't see thousands of Mopar fans waiting around for years until they can pick up a used 2008 Challenger on ebay for msrp. Many will go elsewhere.

Rather than wait for the mark-ups to disappear and more choices to be offered, I think many people will be turning the keys of new Mustangs.

Yep, and one of those could be me. If the Challengers go for over MSRP, I might be heading for the Ford store.

I also have a Plymouth, a Ford, a Mercury, and a Buick. I'm not loyal to any one manufacturer. I've had 442s, a GTO, and a Monte Carlo as well. I'd love to have the new KR Mustang, but it will be much too expensive for me and will sell for WAY over MSRP.

Maybe I'll wait for a 'Cuda

Re: C'mon, Dodge, throw us a bone

I wish I had a huge garage. I have 2 cars in my garage, 2 in storage, and one at the girlfriend's house.

My Plymouth is a 1971 Satellite wagon, Adam-12 clone. Sgt. MacDonald always drove a marked wagon on that show.

Re: C'mon, Dodge, throw us a bone

A few months back I caught an Adam 12 rerun and in one scene they pulled over this lovebead covered hippy for speeding and as he got out of his R/T Charger he immediatly informed the officers "You fuzz are always pickin' on us. You have it out for us,don't you?" What do you think he meant by"US"? Mopar owners or hippies or both? You just gotta love reruns from the late 60's to mid 70's.
