Re: cost of a new challenger?

Official pricing and options for the 2008 Challenger are coming out in about 3 weeks.

Most are guessing that the price will be close to that of the Charger SRT (exclusive of dealer mark-ups).

The Challenger will start rolling from March or somewhere around it... As of the price, it will priced the same as Charger SRT-8 "$38k" though I wish they'd offer at a cheaper price (let's say mid-30k)... add to it at least 10k mark-up then you've got a 50K car...

Aaaa, y-ahhh quite a bit ; in fact too much : remember us Challengertalkers are not Dodge dealers or Chrysler who sets the factory cost/price and then the dealer's own cost/price that he/she wants....plus whatever profit the actual salesperson wants or needs [ respectively ; in reverse ] !!! Also you mention that $37,000 was the price last year : who told you this ??? No official price has ever been {and still yet to be} announced. You may want to consult with the regional Dodge Rep !!! Did you get any of this on paper/in writing ? Also, you say 'They Keep Putting off Production ',Can you explain? I seem to remember Tommy LaSorda saying it'd be ready around April '08 as a 2008 Model and since the Concept is only a 2006 , I'd say the New Dodge Boys are doing preeey good !!! ??!! Now, once the 2008's are released, you'll have an approximate figure to work with in estimating what the 2009 Dodge Challenger will cost. Also, in my opinion a Challenger should be priced a bit higher than a Charger; a 4-door Charger that is: as I consider a 2-door/coupe to be more desireable than any sedan could ever Bee !! P.S. Too bad you've already unloaded that Go-Man-go Charger ; sounds [ed] real neat !!

The [aprox]37k i mentioned was a guess ,basicly starting at a srt charger base price and working up from there.I never implied i had a contract but have heard of a few over at charger forums ,who said thier dealer reps, had Taken money down for depos, well over a year ago....B.S as far as im concerned.just finding it hard to wait for this car and now i know it will be at least next year before the prices [due to production#]come down enough for me to be able to own one....with the gas prices going up ...96 a barrel...who knows...

Re: cost of a new challenger?

I looked at some 2008 Charger SRTs. They were loaded with Options I, II and III (for more dealer profit). The MSRP was $45,000. I think this is what we are in for (forgetting about dealer mark-ups)!

Re: cost of a new challenger?

Does anyone know if it is possible to order a car directly from Dodge and have it shipped to a local dealer? I know of a guy who purchased a Durango this way, about 5 years ago, and got exactly what he wanted for a good price.

Re: cost of a new challenger?

I was told I could order an 09 and would not pay over MSRP.

Re: cost of a new challenger?

With the goat there were a lot of dealers trying to do the large markup thing yet there were plenty that only asked msrp. It even would pay to look out of your state to save money.
