Cover on 5.7

I took the cover off my engine the 3rd day I had it, just curious as to why they would. It actually looks good all blacked out. I also noticed how much heat the cover retained, and wondered why the didn't at least vent it. Then the anal side of me said it would allow the intake to get dirty. Eh, what can you do?

Re: Cover on 5.7

I'm doing the same but there are a couple of small vents in the cover on the left side. Not as pretty as the 6.1 but still looks good uncovered.

I may paint/stripe my cover. I haven't decided what I want to do.

Re: Cover on 5.7

Got a question. Would there be any interest in a carbon fiber cover with body color matched painted areas? Had my salesman tell me that he's got a friend that does custom carbon fiber work that's planning on making a new cover for the R/T engines. Supposed to send me pics when it's done. Said it will be a month or so. Just wanted to know if anyone is interested?

Can do. I'm at work now, but I'll get on it this evening.

Re: Cover on 5.7

I was told the covers Mopar sells for the Charger will fit, but they only come in Carbon Fiber or Hemi Orange. The Orange would really pop, but the Carbon would look slick. Hmmm....
