Hehe, if the Cuda does rise again under the Chrysler name, it may not be that hard to get a new Challenger at MSRP after all.

Re: A 'Cuda in your Garage?

Well, for any and all who might be interested in climbing on the Barracuda/ 'CUDA bandwagon ,[or might I say the Plymouth brand ] late last year I started a 'Blogspot' but so far no one has noticed or replied : so here it is http://plymouthnameplaterevival.blogspot.com/ Maybe after a period of time ,if enough replies are tallied , I could forward it all to DCX {if they still own the Chrysler Group } or Chrysler /Dodge !

Re: A 'Cuda in your Garage?

Guys...Here is a rumor for what it is worth.

On chargerforums.com, someone posted a comment from a friend who works in the Brampton factory. He claims that a 'Cuda model is definitely in the works for 2009.

With all of the secrecy involved, I can't see how a factory worker would have this knowledge. Thought it was interesting though.

Re: A 'Cuda in your Garage?

I don't know about some of you folks. I keep seeing speculation about 30k, 35k, even 40k Challengers. My local Ford dealer has a GT 500. Its marked up to $75,000 dollars. Do you really think you will get a Challenger for any less ? The dealer I bought my Jeep from said his best customers (Viper Owners) have a standing order for a Challenger at any price. The Challengers a pipe dream for any working class wage earner. Hell, when I looked at a SRT 8 Charger, the dealer was trying to get me in to the car at 54k. Glad to see the Challengers back, but .................

You are right about the 2008 Challengers. A limited supply, high pent-up demand, and the need to be first equals BIG sticker prices.

That is why it will be best for most of us to wait for the 2009s. Do you know that some high volume SRT dealers, like Steve White in Hickory, NC, are now selling SRT Chargers at or near invoice (plus a $3,500 factory rebate)!
