Customer preferred package question

I have been looking at window stickers online recently and I understand the 24J, 27J, 24F and 27F. I know the 24 stands for the 5 sp. auto and the 27 is for the 6 sp, the J is for the leather package and F for the cloth. But I have also seen 28J and after comparing window stickers can't see any difference between that and 24 or 27. Can someone tell me what the difference is?

28J sales code was used on the auto R/T [with leather interior] that were produced up to approx. 20/Nov/08. After this date the sales code changed to 24J. The reason for the change had something to do with recalibration on the VCT 5.7 Hemi. If you check you will see that the sales code of the 5.7 hemi also changed at this same time.

Thanks, so it sounds like if you see a 28J it would mean that car was an early build and probably has been sitting on the lot for a long time. The dealer may be more interested in dealing to move the car. Could be good information to know!!

Does anyone know what "2DM" customer preferred package is? It is listed right under 28M(R/T Classic Automatic) listing on the parts department printed options list for a 2010 Challenger.

I got a 28J

One thing I know is with the early builds (28J) we can't display on the EVIC when in MDS mode, that was one of the changes with the engine from what ive read.

If you look at the registry it looks like the 24 is associated with the Auto Classic.
Codes below appear the same in the registry from 09-11

28F Auto RT Base - Cloth
27F 6sp RT Base - Cloth

28J Auto RT plus/Ralley > whatever they call the one with leather
27J 6sp RT Plus/Ralley > leather

24M = Auto RT Classic
27M = 6sp RT Classic

The Herd
2010 Challenger 6sp Mopar10 & 2009 300c Black (The wife's)
1974 Challenger 360 Auto 1998 Ram (for Towing)
1970 Road Runner 440+6 4sp & 1966 Charger 383 4sp

Mine is a 10 RT Classic Auto and it's a 28M
2DMA Customer Preferred Package 2DM
28M Customer Preferred Package 28M
It has leather interior, I don't know if that makes a differance.
