Re: D1 How Long After D1
If I'm correct, D1 in the Brampton system is body shop (early framing stages I think). Give it a couple days to go in-system, and it'll be done. But then I think it comes to Windsor for striping. Went to Ground Effects today and there was 1 lonely Challenger sitting out back. Checked the Brampton system yesterday at work and they were really starting to pump the Challengers into Body.

Re: D1 How Long After D1
If I'm correct, D status means you have a confirmed to-be-built order. Your car won't actually start production until it goes into D1, which means its going into Body. They just started putting production cars into Body on Monday (so that they'd have production cars off the end of the line for Thursday's release celebration), and if they have 6 or 7 thousand Challengers to build, there will be a lot of cars sitting in D status for a while. They are currently sending dozens of Challengers into the system (spaced anywhere from 15-30 cars apart from what I saw), and that will increase as things get rolling. I think it just depends where your order sits in that list as to how long you will wait. I'd be happy just knowing I was guaranteed one.

Re: D1 How Long After D1
If you have your vin number you can go to www.dodge.com/2008/challenger/ordertracking and follow the website. Ours started on 5-5 with the D1 date was 5-8 and is in trim now. Saw them in Chicago and We a glad we got Black. Would have liked to have seen a cold air induction through the buldge hood. Would have been quite simple, but you have to envision it. Envision them with rear window louvers? One thing talking with two others who are getting one, we agreeed that the black would be a standout with polished wheels.
