DCX stops insider info

I just recently read something in the Chrysler Times (Chrysler's employee newsletter) about how they are disappointed that employees at assembly and supplier plants are leaking information on the web about upcoming products. They're complaining that it gives competitors an advantage. They didn't specifically mention the challenger as being the vehicle that the leaks are about, but I have to believe that's the case. I have a little info to leak to DCX. Start telling us something about this car. I'm hearing more about the camaro than the challenger and the challenger was supposed to be the more production ready concept. If you guys don't jump on this your window is gonna shut all to quickly just like the first time around.

Re: DCX stops insider info

Sounds like there is kind of a war within DCX whether or not to build the Challenger. One leaks to stir up support and the other, I think, hopes that if the lid is kept on the support will eventually just go away. Sorry to say but I bet most of the pressure not to build is from upper management, after all no one can say you failed if a car is never built. It's only the ones that are built and don't sell that go down as failures, the Thunderbird for example.
I think the good guys will win but the car may be changed into something unrecognizable by the time it comes out. Or it is dragged on so long that the muscle car boom is already past.

Re: DCX stops insider info

Well as much as I and most of the rest like and want/NEED to hear about the Challenger, if ,when ,how much$$$: I tend to agree with DCX management ! ! it may almost be like an old saying,' Loose Lips Sink Ships' ! Maybe there are GM and/or Ford spies among us here at Challengertalk? if so maybe that's why you're hearing more and more about Camaros and Stangs [[gosh I hate having to even type and say those two words ]] ! Listen, I know a lot of you are antsy to get behind wheel of a brand new powerful Mopar...but there are details that need to or must be worked out. I imagine making a single Challenger Concept is easier than producing 50,000...more people are involved for one thing.....maybe think of this process as ' A fine wine must Age before it's Tyme' or how ever the saying goes !!!

they are going to make this car. there are too many things that point to yes. they are probably worried about the competition getting information to counter what DCX is saying, kinda like what ragamuffin says. i am no insider or anything, but i'm pretty confident they will make this car.

Re: DCX stops insider info

First thing, the Challenger isn't some top secret stealth bomber program or something like that. There are no spies here, maybe some bored market research people but nothing more than that. Second, the only real suspense is whether or not the Challenger is to be put into production. Everything else is known to both GM and Ford. Every car company knows what suppliers, materials and proccesses the other companies use. They know where cars will be made, what they are made of and how. If GM was going to intro a nuke powered Corvette, now that would be a secret worth keeping.
GM will or won't build the Camaro, I hope they do but I won't own one, and Ford will keep building the Mustang. Both companies have contingency plans to deal with any possible combinations of competition from other manufacturers.
Granted there are internal documents like sales forecasts that the other companies would love to see but none of us are privy to those. Everything that I see points to a pitched battle within DCX over whether or not to make the Challenger.

Re: DCX stops insider info

Remember those leaks when the C6 Z06 was still under wraps. One of its employees took some shots of it when it was getting readied for offical shots to be released by GM the next year. HAHA

Well, maybe the Challenger Program isn't a "Stealth Program" and obviously is not Classified ,but if it had been and DCX would have made up at least 50,000 models of various colors and engines, leather and non-leather,say 80% manuals etc....and announced these for immediate release say just after the Chicago Auto show...This would have been a huge advantage on the Enemies ! !!!!!!!!!

Re: DCX stops insider info

So who are these guys kidding....there are no secrets. Let's see, the DCX boys are all clamed-up about the Challenger. Then we get leaks and rumors and speculation about the car. What the heck do you expect?

Hey DCX...welcome to the 21st century.

Re: DCX stops insider info

I just got an interesting phone call. Well, it was a dcx market research study phone call I THINK!!!??? I got a phone call this morning around 11:30 a.m.
And the guy on the other end of the phone was asking me all these questions like, how old are you , maried or single, who much money do you make, etc. Then have you in the past yr puchased any high pereformance automoblies and if so ,what where they. And this was all just aout of the blue, when we started It was just hello I,m doing an independent market study abut automobles. And if you where to buy a new highpo vehichle would you want , a sports car, a suv, a truck or A PASSENGER CAR COUPE.. Fwd, Rwd or All wheel drive. What kind of engine v6, v8 , v10, v12, gas, diesel, hybird etc. Then standard or auro trans. Hard top, convertable, power moon roof etc. The what tiped me off that it was DCX was. This sorta weird subjective question about ignition switchs... It was something to the effect, do you like the push button ignition switch on your Dodge ram srt, which I told him I purchased earlyier. I said I like it very much. Then there was a hunered thousand ?s about what I liked/disliked about my ram. If i wouldnt have bought that what would you have purchased. anyway just thoughtyou guys would like to know..

Re: DCX stops insider info

They should just announce that they are going to build it. They need to do something to put a "spark " into dodge, i didn't even look at dodges lineup when i bought my mustang.
