They have plenty of high performance vehicles, Srt truck, srt jeep, charger, magnum etc. They just dont have a pony car. And pony cars have always been and always will be the best and most popular platform for a highpo automobile. They build the challenge and they will have it all.

It's only the ones that are built and don't sell that go down as failures, the Thunderbird for example.
I think the good guys will win but the car may be changed into something unrecognizable by the time it comes out. Or it is dragged on so long that the muscle car boom is already past.
Also to sorta continue my last post. I think what MIKE F is saying may be right. While I think the whole SRT line up is great. Those vehicles are extremely niche orianted. I went to the SRT track experiance and drove them all. Got to ring them all out on the road corse at 140 mph. And they DID make a beleiver out of me. The jeep was straight up awesome that think kicked it own ass out of the hole, it was just insane fast. They all where some of the best handleing nicest driving vehicles I have ever driven... But just extremely niche, very SMALL niche market! And I willing to bet that srt vehicles havnt met there projected sales qoutas. I own an srt ram, I purchased it in december of 04. I paid 50k for it, almost full sticker. I wish I would have waited a year becuase they did'nt exacty fly off the lots. Theres one down town thats an 05 yellow fever and I bet if I offered them 36000 theyed take it. And the jeep is the gearing up to be the same way I would bet. And it was just released this year. Dont get me started on the charger or magnum, but I dont ever see many of those on the road even none srt ones. So yeah I think what Mike F is saying may be right theres alot of fighting within DCX because the srt line of vehicles havnt been that profitable. just my .02

Re: DCX stops insider info

Now just listen here: some of you [ mainly the youngest or new Challengertalk.com members ] apparently have not read all of the threads and /or posts, as well as other websites !!!!! You know, sometimes no annoucement is better than one..DCX could just come right out and say NOPE no Challenger..We feel pressure and rush to order...we're doing fine like we are !!! We want[ed] to do this right but some want one right now..ok here take one before it's off the assembly line....go 300 miles and clank..clank....ok bring it back..it does have the great DCX warranty 7/100,000 or is it 3/36.000 ? Also a lot of members are buying other makes or have Stangs...that's fine but I don't want to hear about that on Challengertalk.com ! Those I'm talking to are all over DCX :it's barely been six months from showing it.You did know it takes at least 18 months to put into production and DCX is the Best and fastest at implimenting Concepts into mass market purchasing power ? How long did it use to take ,2 decades ago, when most were just learning to be stable on a trike ? Hey, I've an idea, Those that cannot or do not want to wait for an official DCX announcement; Just Call Chip Foose or go to www.chipfoose.com and he will make you a brand new 1970-71 Dodge Challenger ! There you go .

Re: DCX stops insider info

Good thread. the only thing is, this is talked about on almost ALL THE OTHER THREADS! I'm pretty sure that the car will be made. DCX is just trying to work out ALL OF THE BUGS, and that will definitely take some time. why take the chance of rushing in production of a HUGELY awaited car, and then have it become a collosal TURD? did you all check out the test cruise that they gave the new Chally down the California coast? the drivers seem to like the car except for some pretty questionable issues with the tires rubbing on the framework. these things take a little time to iron out, but this car will be made.

Heh, so true. But if someone didn't bang out the same old crap with a different subject line, there would be nothing to talk about because DCX is'nt giving us anything new.
