Post A DEALER'S VIEW: Ford Edge, Dodge Challenger top CEO's hit list

During a tour of the Detroit auto show Sunday, Mike Jackson, chairman and chief executive of AutoNation Inc., the nation's largest chain of car dealers, picked his winners.

Two domestics topped his list: the Ford Edge crossover and the Dodge Challenger muscle car.

"I've been a big advocate of a bolder face for Ford," Jackson told the Free Press, looking over the Edge. "I think it's a great design. ... Dealers will be able to sell this one."

The Challenger, which comes on the heels of last year's retro-inspired Ford Mustang, was so exciting that it would help drive a revival of the muscle cars, Jackson predicted.

"It's a purely American segment," he said. "These are iconic vehicles."

almost every person I've told about the Challenger loves it. I know there's at least 2 people at work that are as excited about it as I am.
