Did the Challenger burst your Charger bubble?

Hey, first post over here. Just wondering how many of you all are former/current charger owners that were just mindlessly in love with your charger until you saw the Challenger.

Now i'm in a tight spot, because my charger lease is up, and the challenger R/T wont be out for another few months. If I want my loyalty incentives and that amazing Gas Price incentives, I have to get a new dodge now. But it won't be a challenger, and that makes me real sad. What should I do?

Buy a junker to get around in for awhile.

The Challenger burst my Charger bubble because now there will never be a two door Charger.

...Chrysler built a 4 door Charger decades ago, it was called a Desoto...

...I have owned old Charger Daytonas, but I have never wanted the new Charger, too many doors for me

Re: Did the Challenger burst your Charger bubble?

We love our Charger, we are about to be a dual Dodge family for the first time ever.

The amazing gas deal isnt going to be around forever your right, but dont let the $2000 you may save stop you from getting what you want or you'll come to regret it.

I agree with the guy that said buy the beater for a few months, thats a great idea! You'll still get the lifetime warranty if you are getting an R/T.

Re: Did the Challenger burst your Charger bubble?

I'm in a somewhat similar situation. I leased a 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP back in Aug '05 and now its lease is coming up in Aug '08. I already have my '09 SRT8 on order... but it probably won't arrive until October or so.

I'll be trying to see if GM will allow me to go a few more months on my lease, which I believe they'll do. Otherwise I'll be having an issue. You may want to check with your dealer to see if they'll let you do that - I believe it's a common practice if you just need a month or two more.

As for the gas incentive -- forget about it. All Challengers (Even SE and R/T) are exempt from the Gas Incentive program. So you won't be able to utilize that. Float your lease a few more months so you can still utilize your loyalty program and you should then be all set.

Chrysler will let you pay month to month on a lease if there is an intent to get another vehicle. Order an 09 and hang on to the lease.

Re: Did the Challenger burst your Charger bubble?

Bubble not burst - wanting a 4-door is why I bought the Charger. Now I just want to add a Challenger and keep the Charger. I just don't want a 2-door to be my sole vehicle.

Of course, owning both at the same time is a pipe dream/lottery fantasy, but I'm fine with it.

Re: Did the Challenger burst your Charger bubble?

Seeing the new Challenger didn't burst my Charger bubble. Sunnyvale Dodge had the Charger I want (Blue Super Bee) parked in the showroom next to a new orange Challenger and side by side I love the looks of the Charger over the Challenger and definitely like the back seat room in the Charger over that of the Challenger (the front seat touches the backseat in the Challenger when all the way back). I'm still undecided if I am going to purchase the Charger or not, but there is no way I would buy a Challenger especailly with all this stupid markup that the dealerships are doing with the new Challenger.
