When I bought my car I never thought about naming it. My two kids wanted me to put a decepticon badge on my car and I told them no, but I will put one on the inside, right beside the ignition button. They loved that because they see it all the time. Now that it's a decepticon they said we will name it Knockout, one of the decepticons. So...my kids named my car and they love to go driving any chance they get
We've named her Lola after the Kinks song Lola, released in 1970 and promptly banned by the BBC. The words, 'I'm a man and so's Lola' stuck as we have #92 of 400 furious fuchsia SRT8 and the car is really a dude in pink drag, lol.
My dad calls my car "Thunderdome" because it sounds like thunder when you start it, and dome because of domed pistons in a Hemi. I call her "Night machine" after the Night Ranger song. "Who's gonna save you this time? Welcome to the Night Machine!"
I went with Rosie based off of AC/DC's Whole lotta Rosie. The song fits the color but the primary reason is I thought the Challenger was too heavy to be fun. After my test drive I decided I was completely wrong which goes well with the song.
I've never named any of the many cars I've owned. But for some reason I can't help but sometimes refer to my 2015 R/T as "Fat Tony"- named after one of my favorite's on "The Simpsons" cartoon. It just fits.
