Does any one else's dash say this?

Ok so my customer asks me why his car says this



and I check it out and put my finger in the hole where the fob goes on the dash. i felt a switch. i pushed it and the car started! but without the key in the ignition, there was no way to turn off the car. i put the fob in and turned it to the on then to the off position. the car turned off. i then tried again. it wouldn't kick over, it just tried to start with the TIP start. i then tried again with the key. it started right up.

i think that all the programming is there in the PCM, this just needs the push button module to have keyless go.

funny how dodge didn't catch it.

My buddies srt readout just says 666,lol.

you can us your finger to turn the car off, you have to hold it just a second longer, also your foot has to be on the brake to start it.

So now we are giving the finger to our beloved automobile..............even before the first payment is made!

foot was on the brake both times. i may not have held it long enough to turn it off.

i will see the car again this friday. maybe we will try it again.

the car does recognize when the key is turned to the on position though. it shows it in the cluster.

well this is my car were talking about so after reading the post i did go out and stick finger in the car hole key (hahaha)and it started and i stuck in there again and held it for a sec or 2 and the car did turn off ,,
now if i press on the brake it will start if i dont press on the brake it will go to Accessory mode and the radio works and all so i tried this,,,,,, i left the key in my office and went and stuck finger in and its says damaged key (HAHAHA)
security features are working since i couldnt start my car with my finger with out the actual key in the cabin...
well whats gets me that if this works why isnt there a button there instead of a finger hole i mean key hole,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, woolf

I thought there was a button push start spec-ed for the car,finger hole doesn't sound right.
Ive seen pic of the push button start switch and it is not recessed it extrude a bit and should be illuminated.
Sounds like there may be something missing on that switch or maybe I read the post wrong.
Does the button say start and stop on it as the one that is pictured on the dodge web site?
Hope my car has a finger hole,lol..

Now I think about it my wife has a hybrid for a company car a Camry 50th aniversery edition and it acts the same way you have discribed.It took some time to get used to after using a key for decades.
