Driver's Side Window Wind Noise, Anyone?

I am still battling this irritating high pitched squeal from my driver's side window.

It only happens on windy days at speeds of 65 mph+ on the highway.

I took it too the Dealership but they said the tech. could not replicate the issue, so they could not work on it, even though I showed them the videos I took below.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so, did you find a fix?

It happens so quickly, I never have time to push on the window as it is screeching, so I am not sure if that would help.

I ordered some Slick 50 one lube silicone spray that I am going to spray on a rag and rub down the weatherstripping track to see if that has any effect.

Wow that would be annoying for sure. My only comment is maybe your window is not seated in the correct position when it is shut or in the up position. I had a similar noise in my blazer and once I changed the window regulator and the window seated correctly the noise went away. Although not sure how these windows are put together so just throwing that out there.

It almost sounds like a reed that vibrates would. That would usually mean a thin strip vibrating between two surfaces. Since you can determine where it's coming from, perhaps a thin cloth, like a sunglass cleaning cloth, closed in the window can confirm if the noise goes away. I'm assuming with such an irritating sound, you have examined the area closely for any loose pieces? Does it always come from the exact same area?

Are you sure it's coming from the window?
I've never heard a high pitched sound like that from wind noise?

Hi Booky,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership again for further diagnosis we'd recommend offering to go on a test drive with a service technician or advisor. In my experience this can help duplicate the concern a customer is experiencing. I'd be happy to offer further assistance if needed, just PM our page with your VIN and let me know!

Thank you Andrea, I appreciate the offer.

I took the Hellcat to the Dealership this morning and the tech. adjusted the window.

Before any adjustments, he took a dollar bill and placed it at the top of the window and closed it. Then slowly pulled the dollar bill out. You could definitely tell a difference between the drivers side and the passenger side window. The passenger side window was tighter and could feel that when you pulled the dollar bill out.

After the adjustments, the tech told me the window was as far up as it would go, but he adjusted the tilt of the window so that it tilted inward more. He said he had a little tilt adjustment left, but he wanted to try it at this setting.

Well that must have been all it needed because I took it out later and ran it up to Ludicrous speed several times and never encountered any squealing from the window like before.

Cliff notes: Adjusting window tilt solved problem.

I have the same noise coming from mine, it is SO annoying. I don't usually take long trips on the high way but last year on my way to Carlisle was a 5 hr trip, I ended up taking a business card folding in half and sticking it a sweet spot between the window and the molding to make it stop

Hi eugene3524,

Has your dealership addressed this at all for you?

I bought a new SRT 392 earlier this year, flew to Seattle from Las Vegas to get it. Drove home for 16 hours with this annoying air leak. Been to 4 dealers now to get it fixed, with no solution yet. Got my car back last night and someone at the dealer had even taken my $500 radar detector. (That's another case though.) I started a case with the SRT customer care department a few days back.....

Ive tried to adjust it up and down now, after the first dealer I visited told me to fix it myself. Made it worse, when adjusted up, and now I'm back to square one. Someone please tell me how to get the top of the window adjusted OUT. When I push on the top of the glass while driving, it seals. Just need to make that outboard push a permanent adjustment. Due to this noise, and my sensitive ears, this car is really no fun to drive. I'm thinking soon I'll be selling it to Carmax and just be done with dodge for a while if I can't get this air leak fixed.
