Re: Ebay auction for Challenger SRT8 # 2 now underway

As of 5:45 PM EST, Sept. 28, the highest E-bay bid amount was $85,100 with 5 days left. (The opening bid was $25,000).

I wonder how high it will go?

Thumbs up Re: Ebay auction for Challenger SRT8 # 2 now underway

I hope the eBay bidding goes very high if the proceeds benefit charity!

Re: Ebay auction for Challenger SRT8 # 2 now underway

Current high bid, as of Sunday Sept. 30, 8:30 AM EST, is $90,101!!

I know that this car is a collectibe, but I do not like seeing a Challenger pushing the $100,000 mark. This will translate into huge dealer mark-ups the first year, just like some Dodge dealers are doing with the 2007 Plum Crazy SRT Chargers.

Re: Ebay auction for Challenger SRT8 # 2 now underway

Barrett-Jackson is an awesome venue to promote the new Challenger. I go to this event every year, and it is the epicenter of the performance car world! If I were running Chrysler, I'd have the new Challenger plastered over inch of that auction site. I'd do an updated remake of the old "Sheriff" TV ads from the early 70s and have them running during the auction on the Speed Channel coverage.
Unlike last year. The Super Stock challenger was in a corner, not very well lit, and the general public could not even get close to it. You had to have some badge to get into the display and the pics I got came out like crap...

Re: Ebay auction for Challenger SRT8 # 2 now underway

Hefty dealer mark-ups are inevitable on the new Challenger. I don't think the e-Bay and Barrett-Jackson auctions will have any bearing on what we ultimately pay for our Challengers. Get ready to break the bank, folks, because there's no way you're getting this car in the first few years without paying a high premium.

Yeh, I think the SRT Challenger will be much closer to 50 (or more) than 40. I have little interest in anything other than the SRT version.

I hope the pricing is the same as the Chargers, 45k loaded for an SRT would be perfect!
