Edmonton auto show

I was at the Edmonton auto show this afternoon and it is by no means anything like the big city ones you guys get in the states.I was talking to a guy from Daimler Chrysler Canada and i couldn't squeeze one bit of info out of him about the Challenger regarding options , price etc. Do you think he is programmed to respond this way or do they really not know the answers? He changed the subject to the Demon and Bluetec diesel.

Ahh Yes... "Have been programmed by Doc Z himself to not talk of the soon-to-be-produced Dodge Challenger 6.1 L R/T's which were designed to kick the Beehinds of Mules" ..otherwise Doc Z said I will have to come back in 2 weeks !

I was at the auto show at the state fair of TX (Believe it or not, it is a pretty big show because it last several weeks) and the Challenger was there for a few days. I spoke to the female rep on hand and conversation when something like this.

Me: So when are they going to start producing them.
Her: Well at this point the car is still a concept so we don't have any of that information at this time.
Me: What do you mean concept, it has been made official that it will be made into production. I guess this is just the canned response Dodge told you to say.

At that point she got all offended and started saying how she has been with Dodge for 10+ years yada-yada-yada. I felt sorry for her in not knowing anything and for offending her so I cut the conversation off at that point.

But the moral of the story is the people at the shows are either programmed not to say anything or brainwashed to know nothing.

Re: Edmonton auto show

listen, they can only give you info that they have!! at the time it was in texas, it was only said it was going to be a 2008 model. i didn't know when production was going to begin, or when the production car was going to be reveled. so the next time you see the car, and the product host doesn't answer all your questions....remember, these people are working all the time during the show season and they have the same questions asked EVERY week.

Re: Edmonton auto show

Would you not think that if it's their most asked about car that maybe they would release a little information to the hosts as to pricing or something. I mean , this thing is close to being unleashed on to us.I for one would like to know right now if they are going to price it way above what i'm willing or expecting to pay so i can go buy something else fun until they calm down on full MSRP or MSRP plus! All this internet hearsay and speculation is annoying and changes weekly. 5.7 VVT with 2nd Gen MDS 400hp....6.4 hemi 470 HP SRT only! No SRT's first year...the list goes on

Re: Edmonton auto show

its not the product hosts' fault, they can only tell you the info they know!! dodge might still be working on price, options, and everyting else. i'm sure that when info is going too be released, dodge will do it,just like the countdown clock to when the production car is debuted.
