Engine went..........

Timing chain broke while cruising at 70... BANG!!! clack, clack, clack, etc....
Pulled off to the side of the freeway and tried to restart, sounded like two cylinders had compression. Car is an R/T auto with 60K on it....

Dealer will not replace it with a factory engine, a reman from the lowest bidder........... nice. Dodge can kiss my ass, I purchased over 100K in vehicles in less then two years plus 5 referals who bought and this is what I get????

I signed up on this forum just warn all 5.7 MDS car owners..... good luck with that piece of **** hencho en mexico!!!

There has been another thread about some cars having this issue. Sorry for your issue with this.... man....

To help others... what year is your car? How long have you owned it? How many miles?

I really hope Dodge comes through for the OP. They have posted great numbers in the last couple of years, so they shouldn't be stickin it to the consumers. Great way to run off potential buyers!

many here have pointed out you get what you pay for...hate to say it but cheap third world labor does not get you the cream of the crop employee building your motor.
still hope you get it taken care of under warranty the right way

Sorry but I don't think it has anything to do with who is assembling the engine, but rather a faulty part. Search the net, there are numerous posts about timing chain failures in the 5.7 (09's seem to be the one's with the issue).

Too funny - thanks man! It cost very little to create - $50 ebay engine cover, $10 spray paint & clear, one $7 Mopar decal. Try making one and if you need details PM me.
