Factory Stripe Delete?

I have an '09 Hemi Orange SRT (6 speed) on order. I am on the fence about the stripe delete option. The issue with factory stripe is that it extends on the nose so any change to a different hood, TA, Shaker, etc won't look right.

I was also going to get a classic RT style side stripe from and was concerned about how that would look witht he hood stripe. The '09 hood stripe is matte black, so I assume the aftermarket stripes would match. I do think I like the combination of the two, especially after seeing the RiderGfx post.

Decisions.... Thoughts anybody?

Re: Factory Stripe Delete?

I'd probably keep the hood stripes, but those side stripes just aren't for me - to me they just don't look right on the new car, it's as if someone's trying to go TOO retro. I know I'm in the minority here, but IMHO they just don't work.

I understand why you strip delete on black, but on orange I think it highlights the body lines.
Hanse, I'd get the hood stripe from Auto graphics on this form ( no nose vinyl) if t bothers you.

Re: Factory Stripe Delete?

you can always remove the stripe like JS29ROB did. It would only take 15-20 mins

...the stripe came off the hood with minor help from a heat gun....hardly left any adhesive residue at all...the stripes on the nose were more difficult, they didn't want to let go....lots of adhesive residue to clean off
...all in all, well worth it I think...the car looks so slick and clean now....

Re: Factory Stripe Delete?

I had the same thoughts about the switching out the hoods and stripes on the nose. I kept the stripe on the car because I think it adds character to the car. To me the car looks naked without the hood stripes...

You can always remove the whole stripe or just the part where it extends beyond the hood on your own.

Re: Factory Stripe Delete?

thanks for the ideas. I figured the factory strip was on there for good. Knowing that I could remove it without re-painting, I'll probably keep it.

Re: Factory Stripe Delete?

I ordered my 2009 SRT with the hood stripe. I think that it really accentuates the hood scoops and the 6.1 emblems. After all, this is supposed to be a retro car. How many R/Ts from the 1970s did not have stripes of some kind?
