So I forgot the date I bought my Sublime 2015 Scat Pack. Well after putting off its third oil change for a few weeks due to various things that came up and the fact that's it's not my daily driver but has been driven more than usual lately since my DD has been laid up due to an accident. I took my SP in for an oil change today and they asked me cash check or charge I told them I had two out of four covered oil changes left they checked my name, vin and after a phone call told me that's only valid for two years and as I had purchased my car on Jan 3rd 2015 to kick rocks and pay them. Well I did t know there was an expiration date on my four covered oil changes and they offered to sell me some pre paid ones for I do t remember it aggravated I just pulled up a coupon I remember getting from them on my email not long ago and paid them there 66.00 and went on my way.
Now I need to set a service appointment with them as I think I've sprung a leak in the radiator but I've tried to set one three times before and have gotten so frustrated talking to whoever it is at that particular dealer I just hang up after trying to explain the issue. I think I need to find a new service department, as much as I love my car when I had a foreign car the service departments have always been far easier and much more customer service oriented. And it's not just Dodge I cringed whenever I had to deal with GM service departments also. Okay well two different issues and rant off have a great day everyone.
Yeah GM is the same way. They gave me 4 free oil changes on a new SUV purchase that they didn't even tell me about. Come to find out they're only good for one year. Oh well.
Anyways, there is TSB on some 15 model year with the radiator leak. Find a new dealer and see if yours is on the list.
When I bought my Challenger SRT392 last July, I negotiated 4 oil changes as part of the deal. The paperwork that was reviewd with me by the dealer at the time I picked up the car, clearly showed that I would get 4 oil changes within 24 months of the date of the sale of the car. You should have received similar paperwork because the oil change package is actually a contract. Check your paper work, I suspect that you were not cheated as you say but perhaps just not well informed. Who's fault is that?
On the dealer topic, my Dodge dealer in Houghton Lake MI where I bought my Jeep GC and Challenger SRT392 is great both for sales and service!
My dealer here in Naples FL where I bought my Chrysler 300 is the worst I've ever dealt with in 50 years. Warranty work is the only service that I would take my cars there for. I would never buy a new car from them again.
I guess I was lucky , bought our 2015 RT plus from Sunset Dodge in Sarasota ,, At that time they told me you get 4 Free oil changes ,and have 2 years . There service had been very good no problems at all
Had one warranty issue, took few days for and appointment, brought it in took them 2 hours on my way
FCA cheats me out of two oil changes, didn't know there was a deadline

You purchased your 2015 Scat Pack in Jan. of 2015, yet you have only changed oil twice???
Then you create a post claiming FCA and the Dealership are the bad guys???:icon_rolleyes:
You should change the title of the thread from "FCA cheats me out of two oil changes" to:
"I have not been getting my scheduled oil changes and lost out on a couple of free ones - my mistake".
The owners Manuel clearly states:
NOTE:
• The oil change indicator message will not monitor the time since the last oil change.
Change your vehicle's oil if it has been six months since your last oil change, even if the
oil change indicator message is NOT illuminated.
• Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 6,000 miles (10,000 km)
or six months, whichever comes first.
Wow I change my oil every fall before I park the car for winter. Then I drive approx 3k to 4k miles and change it again and park it for the winter...... So I have to change it, put it in storage, take it out and change it again?!?
My dealer also offered 4 oil changes within 2 years. I wanted to start a relationship with the service department and the Techs. I would find a Tech I liked, tip him well and ask for him each visit.
I thought it prudent to try their service with a minor service. I went and had them put nitrogen in my tires. I went on a Saturday morning. I got the car back within an hour. I got into the car to grab some paperwork. My interior was full of oil on the center console and steering wheel and door.
I paid the 35 dollar invoice, left, and within a mile my LTPWS (Tire pressure) light came on.
I have not been back even though I had 3 wheel speed sensors and the hood weather strip go bad.
GREAT car. I will handle my own repairs.
I hope you can find a great service department.
Tom.
I purchased the 4 full synthetic oil changes with both my Jeep GC and my SRT. Another thing everyone should be aware of is they are not transferable should the car be sold, so if you decide to trade in the car 1 year down the road, say goodbye to any remaining oil changes.
Good point, however, with automakers being as picky as they seem to be about warranty work, I'd prefer to have my service visits registered in their system. Just in case there's a major problem, there can be no question about whether or not the required maintenance was performed properly and to FCA's requirements. I do change the oil on my children's vehicles, so I get to crawl around under a few cars.
As far as the oil changes are concerned, a package of four oil changes and tint was added to my car when I bought it. I normally don't buy dealer add-ons, but they were charging what I felt was a fair price, so it was fine (I did the math and actually couldn't even come close to doing the oil change as cheaply myself). I was informed by the dealership that the oil changes were part of a warranty (from either Zurich or FCA) and that they did expire.
I was told I had 4 free oil/filter changes but they insisted they be done every 6 months/6000 miles. I used mine up early because I took the first one after 1500 miles and then the rest after each 6 month period. The dealer price when I started paying for them is very reasonable so I will continue to let the dealer do it. I like my car and want it to be my last one. I now have 20,000 miles on my '15 Scatpack. My total oil from the catch can hit 11 fl oz yesterday.
Memphisraines,
Your not the only one that missed the service interval.
Ours sat in in the the garage for months never driven.
I first changed the oil myself at about 1400 miles which was almost a year after purchase.
Changed again at 6k and is due again now.
