First Pick for Challenger

I wondered how one would go about "getting in line to buy" one of the first Challengers when they become available. So last month I called the largest Dodge dealer in K.C. and asked that question. The dealer said that as far as he knew Weinberg Dodge would get 3 maybe 4 of the new Challengers and that they had already been spoken for...!! Already! I kind of went panic mode and called 4 more dealers, same story, (although Weinberg was getting more cars than the other dealerships so they claim). Finally I got a hold of a Northland Dodge dealer that said no one had been there yet to registar for the new Challenger... I was there in 20 minutes, signed up, and now I'm guaranteed in writing that I get first pick of the first Challenger that shows up at this dealership. They are a smaller dealership and only expect one car initially. Has anyone else gone through a similar experiance? What happened?

Re: First Pick for Challenger

You, like many of us, may have to wait for the 2nd year of production for the Challenger.

There are simply too many dealerships (almost 3,000) for the number of Challengers that will be produced, about 30,000.

It will be hard to wait but it may be to our advantage- reasonable price, "bugs" will be out of the car, and a bigger (6.4 Hemi?) may be offered along with other options.

Re: First Pick for Challenger

I wish if they make da new challenger too mechanical. I mean if we can order it without parkinsensors, airbags, ebd, abs, and all those crappy electronics, come optional.

Glad to hear it. Then I won't have to compete with you on getting some of the 1st ones.

Yeah I know it is best to wait. In fact I usually do. But the truth is I am driving around a 98 model car waiting as it is and my current daily driver could use a rest.
