Re: First Pick for Challenger

My dealer has already promised me the first srt-8(or whatever they will call it) in my area way back in Jan. when I went to NAIAS to take pics and showed him. He said I deserve the first one. I couldn't agree with him more!!!

Your setting pretty knowing the dealer that well. Are you going to try to press the options you want? I ask because my dealer said the dealership owner would pretty much order the first one the way he wanted it, that I could make suggestions, if I didn't like what was delivered I could order a different one...right, thats why I signed up 18 months early, (I'm apparently not as cozy as you are with your dealer). I don't think either of us will have much say about the first one delivered, and will have to live with what the FACTORY decides we get. Still its exciting ain't it? Thanks for sharing

The daytona charger we bought, was pre ordered from the factory[i have the build sheet]The dealership owner and sales rep were both in on the prosess. We recieved our charger last nov /4/05.The daytona ram was a puchaced from the same dealer at a factory auction, slight hail damage comeing in on the flatbed truck. ALSO had agreement with local dealership that they would NOT sell any more of these mango daytonas in my town.We live in a small town and the demand for the specialty cars are not as great,so i think the dealership is just as happy to be able to sell at least a couple high end cars a year ie;prowler, crossfire, viper, srt 10.etc.find a nice small town dealership to work with im sure they would love to work with you.To answer your ? yes i do believe there will be options to choose from on the first run of the challenger, just dont know what they are yet. MR WZRD.

Re: First Pick for Challenger

The dealerships aren't going to have much say in the first Challengers they get shipped - unless they're huge volume dealerships that have some sway with the manufacturer.

My wife and I were just in looking at the new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (the 4-door - that's a sweet Jeep). And there's a certain color we want. The dealership basically said, "Yeah, they're new and they sell fast. We pretty much take what the factory sends us at this point. Until sales slow down a little bit."

So the first several on the lots are gonna be a total crapshoot. (Although, they're pretty much ALL gonna be cool...) And I'm thinking that the SRT version of this car is gonna be BADASS. They've got a LOT of SRT experience under their belts at this point, and now they finally have a vehicle that's BEGGING for the all-out, balls-out treatment.

I don't think they're gonna let us down on this one.

Can't wait to see you guys (and other guys who actually live near me who went and got their name on the list) driving around in one of these guys. That's gonna be awesome.

Re: First Pick for Challenger

I'll probably wait till the second production run to get my finances in order. I could afford to get one first run, but I don't really feel like fighting for it, and paying (who knows how many) $1000's above MSRP, when I really should be spending my money on other things... like buying a house.
