I contacted the internet manager regarding this, and that I was interested in purchasing one of the 2 which were "under" MSRP. She told me this was a typo on the web page and that they were going to fix it. But I could still have one for $60k! What a bunch of BS!

Re: Fraudulent Dealers

We should let all those cars with jacked up msrp's just rot on the lots.Soon they all will be old stock and the dealers will be forced to dump them at any cost.

Re: Fraudulent Dealers

I don't know if this is outright fraud... maybe false advertising to get you into the dealer, make a phone call, etc.

Bottom line, you have the choice to accept to decline paying the mark-up. Now if they get you to pay the mark-up without your knowledge; for example, like burying the cost in the contract as a hidden cost -- then you probably have a case for fraud.

I don't care if the greedy dealers sit on these units until they croak... I'll say it again; in my opinion, the dealers appear to be the ones that are engaged in price fixing and should be held accountable to Chrysler and the state Attorney General.

The problem is this accepted practice has been going on for years and nothing has ever been done about it.

Re: Fraudulent Dealers

I was approached by a dealer from Dallas Dodge located in (where else?) Dallas, TX on I-635... he was actually proud of the fact that his 7 units "only" had a $10K markup. I told him when they get down to zero markup, give me a call.

Needless to say I'm not gonna be waiting by the phone.

Re: Fraudulent Dealers

I was contacted by customer service from Chrysler, it had come only after many emails, letters and phone calls to higher up staff. They wanted to get the details as to what happened with my purchase and why I did not buy the one I ordered. I had agreed with the dealership before pricing was released to buy at MSRP and when the car came in the dealership (Dodge City in McKinney) was taking on an extra 5k to the price.
I have bought vehicles from the dealership in the past and I will NEVER buy from them again.
The sales manager there is a real slimy guy too and I would suggest anyone to stay away from this dealership.

If I am not mistaken, the same car I ordered still sits on their lot and it came in the middle of July.
