Future of Challenger?

Has anyone heard what the future of the Challenger is going to be? Is it only going to be around for a 4 year run or will it evolve into a second generation around 2012? What is everyone hearing?

Re: Future of Challenger?

With history repeating itself, it is a very good question...In 73 oil prices were climbing and here we are again.

Re: Future of Challenger?

I just don't see a second iteration on this car! The outside is perfect now what would they change it to? Going out on top would be best!

Re: Future of Challenger?

back when this car First came out in the early 70's, cars used to change pretty much evey year, if it wasn't a body or style change, the front and rears ends definitely did (like the '70 & '71 did). Being that it originally only had a 4 year run, there isn't much to RETRO it to. The Mustang has stayed the same looks wise since it came out in '05 but they have 40 years of designs to tap into. The next logical progression would be to buld off the current design some or go the 'Cuda route. Maybe down the line they can turn it into a real 2 door Charge, then Road Runner then stop at Cordoba!

...actually the original Challenger was built 5 years

...can you imagine being able to go to your local dealer and order a retro RoadRunner/Superbird/Cuda etc etc....blinding horsepower, hi-impact colors....
