Gas Mileage.....who Care?

I hear this big ruccus about gas mileage and I say, who cares, this is a muscle car. Not to mention with the 5.7 and MDS it'll problay get like 25mpg highway, so quite wining gas mileage lovers. Go buy a prius and enjoy racing golf carts cause that's all you could beat anybody agree with this? I mean who buys a car based on mpg unless your poor? Buy what you need and what you like, not to mention this car will get really good mpg for it's size and power. I mean would anybody not buy this car because it doesn't get good enough gas mileage? Please reply so I don't think I'm alone.

Re: Gas Mileage.....who Care?

I never understood this people plunk down tons of money for a SUV or a high powered car and then bitch about the MPG. If u so worried about $$$$ buy a VW Diesel and get 50 mpg
U want power u gots to pay

Cool Re: Gas Mileage.....who Care?

My Z-28 has a LT1 and 6 speed stick and that gets 30/31 mpg on the highway...I see no reason why the samll Hemi should attain this kind of mileage.

Re: Gas Mileage.....who Care?

dude that's no joke I mean I didn't just make it up, on a trip doing round 60 in Oregon of course, I got close to 30, it was a shocker to me too, but its true BUT hey, i'm not arguing or saying anything about the challenger. I think that's awesome gas mileage with 350 hp(and I don't care bout mpg) I'm just showing how sad the idea that rice is such good gas mileage is sooooooooooooooooooooo wronng

Re: Gas Mileage.....who Care?

The only car i would consider in the Challenger price range is the new EVO X Mitsu the only prob is Mitsubishi reliability is the craper lately. but SMG gear box 4 wheel drive and 300+ hp sounds sweet.

i'm in no way saying that i like my little civic as a performance car, but to go 415 miles on 20 dollars of regular gasoline is unbeatable. not only that, but its sooo much cheaper to maintain. tires are 25 bucks a pop, all new brakes all the way around (pads, shoes, rotors and drums) for a little over $100, and the engines just dont die. my brother has the same car with over 230k miles on it and all he ever did was change oil regularly and put on new plugs/wires. these cars are economy cars plain and simple, not race cars like a lot of silly punks make them out to be. with that said, i will defend these cars for their reliablitly and practicality, not their fun performance factor. thats why i have my Z28 and Roadrunner, and soon to be Challenger.

Re: Gas Mileage.....who Care?

lol, yeah I"m sure if you get a tiny little car, any tiny little car, foreign or domestic, it'll do good on gas, but as far as reliability, I read an article on a 3500 Ram from 1996, and it was primarily a company truck that pulled campers cross company, delivering and shipping them, etc.
Wanna know how many miles it had on it, 1,000,000
that's right, 1 million miles, and it had no engine or transmission replacements, only regular oil, and a few break pads, that's it, eat that for reliability and long lasting honda and toyota, and it did it pulling the majority of the time, cha ching
