Your MDS will net you a whole 1 MPG ... I'd rather have a 6spd daily have fun .... anyhoot unless you're gonna feather that gaz pedal - there's no difference you shall see between both ... both you will in a 6spd in other waysEDIT : You seem to not be sure what MDS goes on what trim - then you should read this linked thread from the beginning page 1 with all details posted

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy
yes bitter sweet times, killer cars finally and gas prices that kill. but i have to have the Challenger (maybe 3 or 4) because its so everything i want power ,style etc, etc. you cant build a 70-74 Challenger for 30-40 grand with all the cool stuff the new one offers. just a crate motor and paint job you're at 25g's. Can't wait to start bangin gears in a new challenger. Mopar fanatic till death

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy
When the muscle car era was in full swing, I wouldn't even be conceived for another 10 years.
I grew up with euro cars, and only heard about musclecars through stories my dad told me about the 442's he had. I discovered more about them in middle school, while reading Hot Rod, Car Craft, and building models. But it wasn't until last Spring when I finally bought my own, a 1974 Rallye Red on black Plymouth Duster 318. I did quite a bit of work on it, and the whole time couldn't stop wondering what it would have been like to drive that car when new, being able to check off option boxes, and wait for it to be unloaded at the dealer. Now I get the chance to experience the muscle car era as a relatively young guy (26) with the means to actually buy a brand new one, exactly the way I want it. I'm very excited. ![]() |

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy
My first new car was a 1970 Cuda with 4-speed and Y1 paint. I was 22 and have been a Mopar man ever since. I sold the Cuda (crying now) 4 years later. I have an SRT-4 right now and love it. I can't afford the Challenger SRT, so I'm really hoping I can swing the 2009 R/T. Yes, it is a good time! I would love to see them bring on a yellow Challenger T/A model. I'd wait for that.

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy
Let the good time roll!!! It is weird how it is just like the 70's. Muscle cars and then gas shortages and long, long, lines.

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy
I don't know which is worse. In August of 1967 I ordered a 1968 Coronet R/T and had to wait for it. We had no internet or factory customer sevice to call. It was Dec. 24th before the car was delivered. The salesman had already left the dealership and I used to drive by the dealership every night to see if I could see it on his lot. Sometimes, I even went up to the train yards where they unloaded the cars just to see if I could see it. Now we have all of the the technology and up to date information and we are still frustrated by the waiting. I hope I can endure this as it is just as exciting as the first time.

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy
My whole family has had mopars. Between my dad, his brother and his dad, they must've owned over 100 mopars. My grandpa had a all black Satellite, i think it was a '69 with a Hemi, all or orginal, and he sold it for like $8,000 about 15 years ago. Makes you wanna scream when you think about it. I can't wait to go to the dealership and order my all black R/T. I love this car, and probally will never get rid of it.
