"A glorious Time" to be a car guy

I grew up in the 70s I remember my cousin's buddy bringing home his 1971 Blue Challenger 440 six pack after driving it off the showroom floor! I was 12. That car was badass, so was my cousin's 69 Chevelle 396 SS (Also purchased new!) Well here we are in the 21ST Century and we all get another chance to own American Muscle car history! I currently own an 07 C6 Corvette, But now I want a second car when my vette is paid off. First I thought of buyin the 07 Mustang Shelby GT500 -Then the Challenger debuts and blows me away. I'm waiting to see what the New Camaro will offer (since I'm a Chevy guy at heart) BUT I Retire in 4 years and I promised myself a Viper SRT Coupe (Snakeskin Green or GTS Blue) Choices choices-If you would have to me 10 years ago this was going to happen I would have told you -you were F*ckin" crazy! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Talking Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy

Let the good times roll!

My 2009 (SRT or R/T) Challenger will be the replacement for my 1971 'Cuda that I had to sell when my daughter was born. It is a dream come true. Can't wait!!

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy

I was born in 70 and own, but not currently restoring a 70 Mercury Gt my dad bought new. I grew up around muscle cars and now I am i a position to buy possibly the last of the true V-8 musclecars(along with Mustang and Camaro) I cant wait for 2010 when I get to smoke the tires off the dealerships lot, just like my dad did in 1970!!!

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy

Yeah, times are good, except that gas might be $4 a gallon next month. It's good to see that GM and Dodge brought back two icons the way they ought to be, without cutting too many corners or betraying the history (not including the Charger).

What does this smiley mean?

Re: "A glorious Time" to be a car guy

I was born 10 years after the last true muscle car was built but have always loved them. This truely is a glorious time for me. I just so happy I have the money to actual purchase one of these.

Born too 1970 heheh My mom's boyfriend had me decide which car to buy back when I was 7 y.o. - the car - a 1974 Plymouth Satellite with wrap-around floor console .... he opted to buy it ! The rest is history .... been a Mopar fan since along with all them older Muscle Cars like the Boss 302 1970 I sat in as a kid too !
Like I've said a few times before - we get to still see these old faithfuls in their pristine/restored conditions , then we get to see some wicked resto-mods/Pro-Tourings with a mix of old and new ....... and now in my mid-thirties - I relive the best of both worlds along with amzing cars coming out with the best technologies ........

Yes I would give anything almost for a time machine back to the late 60's leading up to 1970 - best year for the Muscle Car ..... but I truly appreciate the times we live in , with the age I have , and the chance to see past & future rolling art !
