Thumbs up Great deal for any vehicle

Hey Guys! I was wondering if any members have any experience or opinions on extended auto warranties? I'm looking to extend the warranty on my car and have no clue what I should be looking 4? I did however find a good company "Low Cost Warranties" and am seriously considering their very comprehensive warranty. I checked them out and found that they have a great record, so before I proceed with my purchase I would like 2 maybe hear from any members of any experience they may have with them... Auto Warranty, Truck Warranty - Low Cost Warranties - Extended Auto Warranty Specialists, Truck, Car Warranties, New, Used Vehicles...

Re: Great deal for any vehicle

Everyone knows how expensive repairs are to new cars (especially when they are repaired with genuine factory parts). That is why an extended warranty is good- if you can afford one.

Dealers love to sell you warranties because of they are VERY profitable to them. If you pay $3,200 for a warranty (full price), the dealer will make about $1,500!

I have discovered that you can shop around for warranties and can buy an extended warranty from ANY DCX dealer.

In the Chargerforums website, one of its members posted these two websites where Dodge/Chrysler dealers will sell you extended warranties at practically cost:

Extended Auto Warranty for your Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep Vehicle.* Fast, Free online quotes! ($250 over cost)

Pittsburgh Jeep and Pittsburgh Chrysler best price ($200 over cost)

Don't get hosed. Keep these sites in mind when you are buying your Challenger.

Re: Great deal for any vehicle

For starters, what kind of vehicle/what year model is it ? Another thing is; do you know what reputation this 'LowCost Warranties.com' has and/or have you read the fine print ? My Mom let herself or made the ill decision to get "sucked in" to a $1200 extended warranty on a brand new car, which already has/had a 3-5 year Factory Warranty. Her hubby at the time tried or told her not to get it! Chrysler has just recently come out with a Lifetime Powertrain warranty for a lot of their vehiculars.I think the ones it doesn't apply to are either the 'hotter' cars and/or Hemis. I'm not sure what the Challenger will have . I thought I'd read 3yr/36,000 but again, I'm not sure at this moment. The days of Lee Iacocca offered a 7yr/70,000 warranty, which at that time was real good and may have been the best in the industry !!!

Re: Great deal for any vehicle

I have had bad luck with 3rd party warranty companies before and don't think I would ever go that route again. On the other hand, when we recently bought our Jeep Commander, we got an extended warranty from the manufacturer.

A big factor in this was the cost. I believe it was less than $1k and this is because the dealer is able to sell the warranties @ cost for first year model vehicles. (At least that what is the dealer said) If this applies to a 09 Challenger I will probably jump on it. But since it is really an 08 release, it may not be possible @ cost.

I believe the srt only gets the 3/36 all others are lifetime drive train. It changes so often I cant keep tract.

I do know this when I bought my last Dodge they really hit me up hard for a warranty and I refused.Their angle was it covers the stuff our bumper to bumper doesn't ,what a crock ..
That was one of the first times I actually yelled at a car salesman ,and I mean yelled!
I'm glad I'm going thru Bob Frederick's on this 09 Challenger this is going to be a no hassle purchase with his assistance.Thank god!
