Re: greedy dealers in n.y.

I definitely feel ya, wantonebad. I echo the same to anyone who is looking for a Chrysler vehicle in my area. The 3 local dealers I went with just aren't interested in customer service. Whether it's flat out poor service such as ignoring phone calls or trying to see how many pennies they can pinch by refusing to set a price until the car is on the truck from Brampton (and being quick to tell me they locked their first owner in for $16k over), it's just bad news all around.

Glad to hear things worked out for you with Bob. It seems a lot of people on these forums have horror stories to share that are going to turn out with happy endings due to Bob and our other supporting vendors.

Re: greedy dealers in n.y.

As a New Yorker, I agree, although the taxes and cost of doing business here is also ridiculous, so I feel their pain. As a small business man here, once being a simple truck driver, it annoys me what I have to pay in taxes now. We refuse to get a storefront or hire employees because we cant afford to and I will move away as soon as I can (all my family is here) and my former business partner left many years ago. So, yes, dealers can be pricks, but dont blame them in Ny for trying to survive. The car business sucks now with gas prices and Dodge has overall the worst mpg of any company, so they are in trouble. Most Dodge dealers I would have to assume are in trouble, after all even Nissan and Toyota are. Nissan just announced expected losses in revenue compared to the last 3 years, yet but more small car sales. Toyota is out of batteries for the Prius at last check. Dosge literally has nothing in the pipeline. They marketed the Hemi beautifully. Now what? Big change in the automotive industry underway.

I saw a 08 in Camden (Central NY) for 51k which isnt bad considering the typical 15k gouge. Its gone now, but there is one in Rochester:

eBay Motors: Dodge : Challenger (item 260255595216 end time Jun-28-08 11:13:58 PDT)

Good luck brother!

Give it another year or less and you will see the prices really drop.

Re: greedy dealers in n.y.

Bob is a god send to us all and has been great to deal with from day one.
I'm glad we all grew tired of all the BS from other dealers and we went with him.
Things happen for a reason ..
We all were destine to be treated fairly and Bob is just the guy to do that.
He will get all my car purchases from this day forward with out a doubt.
Next year or so I need to buy all new vans for my company and he will be the go to guy then as well.

Re: greedy dealers in n.y.

I got a call from a Florida dealer yesterday. They very excitedly told me they had dropped the price on thier Challenger $5,000. Now the car was only priced $16,000 over MSRP instead of the original $21,000. I know I don't need to tell you guys this but my response was "No thanks".

I live pretty close to wantonebad, so listen to this . I'm with the wife and kids last night driving home from dinner and passing by the local Dodge dealer we see a brand new 08 black SRT-8 Challenger sitting right in front.I stop to show the kids who have never seen the car in person. As we are oogiling the car a salesman approaches us and tells me the car is sold. I tell him that I noticed the sold sign ask ask how much. He says $20,000 over sticker, and that the 3
alloted to the dealer are all pre-sold at that price. I then tell him that I ordered an R/T out of state for under MSRP and he doesn't believe me.He says that they will be asking $5000 over for the R/T's.
