Hellcat and 8 spd trans for 2014 my???

I am ready to buy a new SRT8 in the next few months. I look all over the net trying to find info on the 2014 Challenger. Is there anyone who knows for sure if the Hellcat engine and 8 spd trans will make it to the 2014 production? I think I would like to wait until the 2014 MY if that is the case, otherwise I may focus on a 2013. Can anyone help with some info? Thanks.

MY 2013 is a truncated production run due to end much earlier than normal. I have read that production of 2013s will end in March. If this is the case we should have an announcement of the 2014s in February. If you can wait for a few short weeks, you will likely know what changes are in store for the Challenger, and order one in March when the order banks open.

The New York auto show is at the end of march, by then we should know more of what the future holds.

As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is
impossible- but pissing everyone off, is a piece of cake.

You wont have anything to worry about with an engine, its likely been in development and testing for years and will be built for boost. I'd be far more worried putting a KB, Maggy or Procharger on a stock engine that was never intended for boost.

My thoughts are the 392 will have both options, but the 6.2 in the LC may only have the manual option. Unless, they beef up the current 5s auto tranny, which I wouldn't think they would do for 1 year, but its possible.

First year cars sometimes have problems, but many things are still the same on the car. I wouldn't worry too much about the engine... I'll most likely be getting one.

Thoughts are the chicago show we will see it.

In my opinion, I tend to think like TURBOAWD, I believe the Hellcat will have had more than enough testing. And I am hoping that everyone will be more than satisfied when it debuts. Also I hope that it comes with an automatic option. Not everyone wants a manual trans. A choice is better.

My 2011 Grand Cherokee has been rock solid for 27k and two years. Plus, I think the 08
Challengers were some of the most reliable... I'M not worried.
