Hey Dodge, let me delete the stickers off the T/A392

So, I went into the dealership to talk about trading my Scat in for a T/A 392, we built an example car in dealer connect. There is an option to delete the stripes, but it is grayed out!

Please, get a delete option in so the dealer doesn't have to rip the stripes and the hood, roof, and trunk stickers off!

Hmm, not sure what's the deal, the side stripes are supposed to be deletable but they are the only ones. The vinyl wrapped roof and trunk and painted hood and nose remain.

Any guesses on how much $ to have the roof and trunk vinyl removed after delivery?? I'm cool with the black hood (which I believe is painted) and side stripes.

You can do it yourself. It's just like any other decal. You'll just have to have the roof and trunk detailed to remove any leftover residue from the wrap. I know because I just wrapped my Subaru hood and roof.

I'm in the same boat. I found the T/A to fit my bill without needing to add anything after my purchase, but all the vinyl is a deal killer for me. That is, unless the dealership agrees to remove all vinyl (at no cost to me) and accept that I don't want the car if the paint is damaged. I plan on ordering my car for a spring 2017 delivery. I pm'd the user here (dodgecares) and linked to this thread. The reply I received said they will check into this issue and post a reply here. I sure hope a bunch of vinyl doesn't cost them a sale and me not getting the car I want. This may be odd, but I could live with the roof and trunk if they were paint and not a vinyl wrap.

Hi ferl--I did check in with the brand ordering options, and had it confirmed that the only deletion possible is for the body stripe. Hood, trunk, and roof stripes are standard and there is no way to put in an order without them. I'm sorry--I know that's not answer you wanted.

I agree that the removal should be a piece of cake but, I don't want to put 45 - 50k in a car and take that chance. With my luck I would peel off chunks of paint or find the paint under the vinyl to have issues that would not have been accepted by the factory if the car wasn't going to have the vinyl to mask an irregularity. To me, the best case scenario for all concerned is to extend that side stripe delete option to the roof and trunk. I get what I want, I pay the same amount for the car and dodge pockets the savings of man hours to transport the car to a 3rd party in addition to not having to pay said party to apply vinyl.

I'm wondering Ferl if this confirms that the T/A will be sent to Ground Effects for completion as is the case with Shaker. FCA worked a flat rate deal with them and it's all or nothing, you will install the T/A CAI and roof and trunk vinyl wrap and all cars will be exactly the same when delivered from GE, no customization or complications allowed. The T/A side stripes are installed at Brampton as is the case with R/T Classic so no big deal to delete them.

Good news on the hood being painted. I get why they go with the vinyl. Dealership offered to remove any of the vinyl at no cost. We can probably do the roof and trunk without any problem, and deleting the side stripes at the factory will be a big help.

Any idea why the option was grayed out for us on dealer connect?

I've been considering a T/A upgrade, but do not want ANY of the vinyl. Everything else is exactly what I want on my future Scat Pack. Do you all think there's a possibility of deleting all the vinyl some time next year? Maybe the the option is not available on the first run of T/A's?

MiHiHemi: I assume black T/As are getting black stripes and satin black treatments like the others. You currently can get black shaker stripes or a black bumblebee stripe on a black Scat Pack Shaker; the matte vs. glossy effect is noticeable in some but not all lighting conditions. Some buyers like the effect, but I prefer more contrast.

mr.cheez: There's no guarantee that there will even be a T/A next year, so if you're really wanting one, but don't like the vinyl wrapped pieces, I'd suggest negotiating with the dealer to have the wrap removed and ensure there is no damage or paint marring underneath before you will accept the car. Whether they'll agree to that is another story of course. ;)

Hey all,

Removing the wrap is extremely easy as long as its done before the glue is baked on. Then you will need to use a heat gun possibly. I have a side business in NJ where I wrap cars and almost any vinyl is like any other vinyl. The difference comes in with the color, stretch, and fading. Below is a like to my friend Matt who runs Obsessed Garage. He just got a GT350 and shows how he is removing the factory stripes. Our wrap would be the same fashion. Check it out!!
