Lightbulb Hot Rod Diesel?

Diesels have come along ways in the last 10-20 years........Maybe its time to start thinking "out of the box"! Especially, considering the price of fuel? To me the Challenger could provide a perfect platform for a souped up diesel! As a matter of fact I've seen several big diesel trucks (Rams and Ford 250's & 350's) that can just light up the tires! With some very respectable cars being embarrassed in the proccess! Really, why not a diesel hot rod..........let Ford put twin turbo's on a V-6 in the Mustang. Dodge would just one up them with a monster twin turbo diesel. When I say monster I am not talking size and weight but POWER!

Re: Hot Rod Diesel?

Diesel here is 80 cents a gallon higher than mid-grade gasoline. It would have to get tons better mileage to make that feasible.

Re: Hot Rod Diesel?

Bring on my fully electric Hemi Challenger with fuel cell back up generator! It would be so much better and be quicker off the line. Screw gas and diesel. Create an electric Hemi alternative, that will still keep its name.
Use solar power to recharge the battery.

Re: Hot Rod Diesel?

I'd just be happy with a tank of New Old Stock Sunoco 260 for the old GTS

Re: Hot Rod Diesel?

I think diesels days are numbered. The cost of buying diesel fuel no longer offsets the small mileage increase. They still rule for towing though.
