My wife says I can get the Viper I want as long as the world really does end on 12/21--if it doesn't, I have to sell it back on 12/22.

Forgot about timing chain issue from the stupid MDS, which our Jeep has. Good point. 6 speed it is again. I'll tell her nothing changes other than having a newer, better version of the car. If not, keeping the DY.

Lots of interesting, (and rude, un-informed) comments here. I went from a supercharged 6 speed SRT8 to an auto 392. Go ahead and tell me I'm not enjoying my car, while I blow your doors off. The 6 speed is fun, but SLOW compared to an automatic. I still have three sticks in the family, a Jeep, an SRT4 and a 308. Guess what...the Challenger is the car I pick to drive 9 out of 10 times. With the stick, I got tired of having to run the living crap out of it to get a thrill. Now, I step on it and go. And with the new supercharger installed, you're gonna play hell keeping up with me. Street or strip.

And for the "expert" that said "you are not going to get the same pleasure" with an auto car, ptooie! May 1 dozen camels poop in your bed sheets.

Auto faster than a manual? Please tell me where to buy the weed you are smoking! The parasitic loss through an auto is greater than a manual..take you're camels home to smoke some that crap...

You can buy it at your local Dodge dealer and every M6 car comes with it, free of charge. It is called "Torque Management" and it means your PCM pulls power each time you shift. When it happens, the micro-seconds are ticking away and your acceleration is suffering. This is why light mods, i.e. CAI/custom tune, on a 5.7 auto typically lead to wins against the 6.1 manuals. A 392 auto vs. a 392 manual drag race is a win in the AUTOMATIC column.

I can turn everything off with the push of a special little button...

Plus that goes to show you, the M6 requires some sort of management because of the power, unlike the Auto...you get MDS

Back in 2011 I drove an IE car with a slush box as the dealer didn't have a 6spd. The whole time I was wondering when the power was gonna show up. I might as well have been driving my truck.

You can't possibly be serious. Automatic SRT8s' are 3-4 tenths quicker through the 1/4 mile than identical sticks.

It's REAL simple to look up...google is your friend. (well, in your case, the enemy)
