I put the Challenger on the 1/4 Mile at Pueblo Drag Last Night

My best Time was 14.61 at 100MPH. I am at high Altitude (Colorado) and they said that adds about a second. I actualy got my best time with the Traction on. (The 14.61). I got a 14.68 twice without the traction on and with it on. (I know thats weird) Exact same time. I am going to texas in 2 weeks and going to run it at the trach there.
I spent the night trying different techniques for launching, and just feeling out the car. Sometimes I get a little spinning off the line. I also tried just punching it and easing in it. I never red light so that was good. I also tried keep it rev at 1,100 and then starting from there and easing in it..
I beat a 57 Chevy and suped up GT Mustang (which was pretty suped up, actually hung without the guy, he was really cool, showed me everything he had done to his Mustang). Nothing better than to hear over the loud speaker, "Now we have the classic match up, the new Dodge Challenger vs Ford Mustang GT, so put your bets down now", followed by, "The Challenger wins, 14.68 , the Mustang 14. 90"
Great, Great night!

The 57 is in the photo below and you can see the Mustang GT I beat later on in the bottom left corner.

Re: I put the Challenger on the 1/4 Mile at Pueblo Drag Last Night

I was at the local drag strip last night (Maryland) and saw a new Challenger run. I saw that he had a CAI, but don't know about anything else. He ran 13.2@107. Very impressive, especially the MPH.

Re: I put the Challenger on the 1/4 Mile at Pueblo Drag Last Night

Awesome data points! Especially good having the high altitude info.

Gotta Question! This morning I ran a few 1/4 mile runs with the car computer.

Bone stock car / Sea Level / 90 Degrees /82% humidity ( I know, not optimum) 1/2 tank of gas, me at 235 pounds. Pensacola, FL

1/4 mile readout on first (cold) run was 13.99 at 105.2 all 5 runs subsequent were slower (heat) like 14.3

There is no 1/4 mile track within 100 miles, so I want to know how the onboard measures up to reality.

P.S. The 1/8 mile times were not so good (like 9.4) hot.

Inquiring minds need to know...

Thanks,

Butch

Probably pretty accurate.

These cars get faster with a couple of miles on them.

Just wait until you get a cold front in FL. Hemi's love that cold dense air.

I am at 13 ft above sea level. My best time in a 5.7 Charger with 18,000 miles was 13.65 @ 103 the temp was 45f

Car was honking down the track!

Hey Warrior, they didn't give you a sea level corrected time? Bandimere used to do that, don't know if they still do.

No they didn't, but I am going to take it to Bandemiere sometime soon, I'll check it out.

When the Dodge Techs unvieled the Racing package Challengers last week at Bandmiere, they told me they ran in the 11's there, but the week before they ran in the 10's in michigan. They told me probaly count on up to 10 MPH difference and at least a second due to elevation.
