Yeah. So I guess if one guy goes out and gets a DWI while driving a challenger, we should all have our right to purchase anything with a Hemi taken away from us. Makes perfect sense, right?

When you (we) post, laugh this fake poster off as the joke it is (extremely poorly timed in my opinion, as we as a society bury 20 innocent children). For those who comment as if it is real, or those who tilt their head and say, "could it be real?", we just look like fools. Enjoy your cars, nobody is coming for them.

Anything to distract people from the gun issue. I hear video games are next. After that it's power tools (chainsaw anyone?). Then plastic wrap for foods (because it can kill too!).

Nobody is forgetting those beautiful children or the administrators lost last week, but its all the idiots who react before thinking that spur these kinds of reactions. People need to catch their breath and rationally think about how to stop events like this. I know a retired secret service agent who said name any event where there is loss of life and the person perpetrating it has the element of surprise on their side and all the authorities can do is react to it.
If there was a cop in the building the guy still would have had the edge and by the time the cop got to him he could have done grave harm. All we can do is hope those who are mentally ill get help and have no access to weapons.
So say a prayer for those that lost their lives and for those who lost them from their lives.

YJ12, I agree 100% with your analysis and thoughts from the secret service reference on down. I knew from the first day that this conversation should go towards mental health, and not guns. I hope it does, I've been pretty impressed so far that it has had a lot of attention on mental health. Helping people and/or protecting safety does not have to mean locking people up, either.

I've done just a minor bit of research on the poster. I haven't figured it out yet. I should qualify my claim that it is a joke, because it is one of 3 things and it's not clear which yet: 1) out and out joke, 2) social comment by gun rights supporters with some irony on modern society and our many "things" we enjoy, or 3) far left ramblings. I don't think it is #3 at all, because it would have been worded quite differently.

Anyway, I'm taking it as a joke, obviously with some commentary behind it. The internet is full of funny, and no so funny, attempts at humor and social comment now.

If the ethanol is the light end of the fuel, maybe we could have a metal pot sitting over an open fire, and pour gas in the pot and let the fire heat it up until the ethanol cooks off

We must merge with NRA and form an organization and call it NCRA (national challengers and rifle association) to fight these bastards.
