I still have my 1995 Grand Cherokee (V8) that I bought brand spank'n new in June of '95, the year before Chrysler was bought by Daimler. In fact, I drove it to work today because the weather is so awful..... 250K+ miles on it to boot. Love that Jeep.
If it weren't for Fiat Chrysler would have been toast. Jeep would have been sold off to the highest bidder and maybe RAM Trucks. Don't like seeing the Pentastar going away either but in the 1970s it went away to a degree until the Iacocca group brought it front and center. It is a new world we live in, don't have to like it just have to live within it.

Why do you think the trucks were branded as Ram? so they and Jeep can be kept and sell of Dodge and or Chrysler individually if FCA decides to. They did try and separate SRT too.
It's age related, i'm almost 60 and this is not the America I grew up in. Screw the new world order, give me back what this country used to be, independent and self sufficient and most of all respected. The other little countries wouldn't dare f--- with us like they try and do know. No our cars weren't as up to par as they should have been but looking down the streets they were full of US built cars not all asian and european like today.
You guys do realize that, outside of 2(?) years prior to Fiat, Chrysler hasn't been a wholley American Manufacturer for close to 20 years now don't you?
This ain't new.
Besides, there are worse Automotive Families to marry into than FCA. Ferrari (well, for now), Alfa, Masseratti...oh no...the horror, the horror
Understand. My original point was just that it was "kind of sad" that the Penstar logo won't be around anymore. And, although I forgot to mention when talking about my '95 Jeep, that it has the Penstar logo on the plastic brush guards on the side and I think they're pretty cool. That's all. Have a Happy Thanksgiving man..
Yeah Chrysler has been to Hell come back, been back to Hell and reborn once again.
Chrysler has not been an American car company since what 96 or 98 ?
But The spirit lives on, and Like Iacocca, This new Boss Mercionne ( not sure thats spelled right)
Has Vision and it shows in the Quality of products being produced today.

Slightly depressing, sure, but Chrysler has been passed around the auto industry like a bag of oreos. At least now it might actually stay with one company longer than 5 years.
Still American at heart and that's where its origins and heritage is.
I bought a very nice plastic gold pentastar emblem and stuck it to the lower passenger side fender right behind the wheel like the older cars have. Problem solved for me...
The other sad thing is they buy garbage at walmart and keep having to replace it and buy it again. A well made more expensive item would have lasted until you chose to toss it.
I go out of my way to buy things labeled made in the USA.
When was the last time a pentastar was actually on a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep... etc.? I think I remember seeing it maybe on window glass but I don't remember the year. Might have been on my 2001 Cherokee. Is it on my car now? Haven't paid attention to it in so long it kind of faded away already. So yeah, sad.
Like the previous poster said... as soon as my RT Classic came home.. the first thing I did was put the pentastar emblem on the car like they did way back when. I also had this made and proudly display it when i show my car.
Yes this country has a lot of problems true. But I have been to a lot of different countries (not by choice) and let me tell you first hand there is no place I'd rather be or live is in this great country!!!
