When buying your Challenger, what order of importance did you put these features? Did you get what you wanted or was there some compromise?
Let's see if you car matches your ranking.
1. Engine: 6.4L, the center piece of the Scat Pack
2. Brakes: Brembo 4 piston. Would like something a little more track-ready than my R/T's 2 piston calipers.
3. Suspension: Fixed Bilstein dampers with the SRT height springs will work great for spirited driving
4. Color: Billet Silver. I like how it looks and it will be easier to keep clean than black for a daily driver.
5. Transmission: 6 speed manual again. Happy with it in my R/T, although the 8 speed automatic is great too so I would be ok with either.
6. Interior/creature comforts: Not much. I'm happy with cloth seats and such. I like it simple.
For me:
1) Shaker
2) Engine
3) Transmission
4) Color
5) Interior
I was looking online at a white 2016 SPS. The salesman on the phone read me some of the specs, and I stopped him at M6. In Southern CA, I wanted an A8 for my DD. He said "I've got one, but it's B5 Blue" I said, I'll be right there.

1. Transmission - bad back needs an auto.
2. Color - Header orange is my ultimate favorite but have since sacrificed color for engine.
3. Engine - went from 5.7 to a 6.4. After 2 5.7's the need for more power became a necessity.
4. Suspension - the 2014 RT Blacktop was an upgrade over the 2012 RT, but the Yellow Jacket has the best so far
5. Interior comfort - all the challengers are comfortable, stereos can be changed out, etc.
6. Brakes - as long as the car stops when I want it to, I'm happy.
For us
1 Color only Sublime
2 trans auto
3 sunroof
4 Engine wanted Sact pack but went with RT plus STP
Could not fine one at the time with first 3 on the list
Extra money went into mods :grin2:
1. Transmission (manual)
2. Engine (Though that whine might make it a #1 tie now!)
3. Color (Really wanted pitch black for personal nostalgia reasons)
4. Laguna leather with red belts
1 transmission (have to have a manual)
2 color (I really like blue colors)
3 engine (V8!, the 6.4 was a bonus)
4 interior/creature comforts
5 -tie- brakes (as long as the calipers are not red)
5 -tie- suspension
1. engine - 5.7
2. interior/creature comforts - had the have the 8.4"
3. color - torred, max steel, granite
4. transmission - preferred manual
5. suspension - STP pretty much tied with it having to be a manual
6. brakes - lol what are those
with great patience i got everything i wanted, thankfully.
1. body style 2. engine 3. transmission 4. suspension 5. brakes 6. interior ..... would have got the shaker but to much extra,,,so I chose the engine over the shaker.
It's interesting to see that the guys with the High Impact colors chose color as #1. This sure was the case for me - it had to be Hemi Orange, and they only made a hand full with the 392 at the end of 2013. Many others are shoe-horned into a certain model year.
And the Scat Pack guys seem to put interior/creature comforts at the bottom, which makes sense. Dodge really got it right with the Scat Pack, and unlike the Core, you can get the options you want....or none at all.
Manual is a make or break deal for a few, I would not have bought my first R/T if there were no manual. But that A8 may have changed my mind next time around.

Yep, that is interesting, and true for me. I've always said that "color" is the most important option, as you will see it all the time.
When I sat in a '15 for the first time, I was impressed with the interior, and really impressed with the new dash/gaging, and the Performance Pages. It had cloth seats too, and I liked everything about them.
Enter the "order one" stage, and a pretty basic Scat Pack was a no brainer for me. It had everything that I wanted for toys, and the 392/A8 with the tuned suspension and Brembos.
So far in 8k (s)miles, I have to say that I would do the same exact car if I were ordering one again.
#1 (tie) Color - deal breaker, high impact bright colors only
#3 Interior - looking for bells and whistles, Bluetooth, leather, heated/cooled seats, etc. Not a deal breaker as most of the stuff can be done aftermarket as well or better than factory, like sound systems, katzkin, etc, but generally it's more cost effective and cleaner to get it built right from the factory.
#4 Engine - had the v6 previously and it was a great car. Interested in the V8 just to have a little extra power and because I want to do some mods that I feel would complement an 8 better.
#5 Brakes
#6 Suspension - easy enough to throw on some mopar stage one springs if needed
#1 (tie)transmission- missed driving a manual
#2 (tie)engine - had to have that 392
#3 color - fell in love after seeing it in person
#4 interior - didn't think I'd like the leather seats but so glad it had them now.
#5 suspension
#6 brakes
Only thing it didn't have that I wanted was SPAG but when I purchase a Tazer to give me the bee startup screen I will have added everything I wanted the SPAG for. Already had the tailband and black fuel cover added. And those totals will be cheaper than the package add on was so it all worked out perfectly
I am with the guy that said looks was #1. I always loved the Challengers. Maybe that makes Interior/creature comforts tops if that is where you would say ergonomics is. I have rented the new Mustang and the new Camaro. Neither was a very comfortable daily driver. You can't even see out of the Camaro and there is about a one foot wide lip to step over to get into the Mustang. No thanks.
1. Interior/creature comforts (new interior redesign drove me to buy new and I can get in and out fine)
2. Engine (had to be a 6.4L after I drove one...the 5.7 just didn't grab me by the balls)
3. Transmission (A8 is wonderful, but the M6 makes it drive like an old school hot rod)
4. Suspension (the SRT's adjustable suspension makes is a bit more comfy around town than the SP)
5. Brakes (the six piston Brembos stopping power is as impressive as the 6.4L's go power)
6. Color (wanted B5 or black initially...went with Jazz Blue...best of both worlds plus pearl!)
1. Interior size. The main stipulation posed by the wife was that it had to hold our 3 kids. This eliminated both Mustang & Camaro.
2. Engine. Had to have the 392.
3. Transmission. The new A8 is a can't miss item IMO. Lighting fast shifts are awesome.
4. Shaker hood. Love having an extremlely rare model. Seen lots of HC but never another SPS.
5. Color. Barely got to order the car in redline red. Was not available with the shaker hood until about 2 weeks before I ordered.
6. Stereo. HK audio is worth every penny. Especially when I'm alone with my gangster rap.
My ranking is. 1 the 392 HEMI 2 the SHAKER Hood 3 the new Interior I passed on the Challenger in 2013 I didn't like the Interior or tail lights. So I bought my 13 Focus ST I have had the itch for a turbo hot hatch for a long time. When I saw the changes made in the 15 Challengers I decided that as soon as the ST was paid off a 16 Scat Pack Shaker would be next to it in my garage. 4 the M6 transmission. I have always ordered a manual over an auto the only automatic cars I have are a 1957 Fiesta wagon and a 1964 Starfire convertible. I have never owned a 4 wheel drive so my next purchase will be a Jeep Wrangler Willys to keep with my vintage looking cars.
Looks of course. i fell in love with these beasts the first moment I laid eyes on them.
1. Transmission-pony car needs a manual transmission. Gives it a real hot rod feel.
2. Engine-love the 6.1 L monster under the hood.
3. Color-black pearl is really nice.
4. Interior-I'm 6'5". I need some space.
5. Suspension-all that power needs to handle well.
6. Brakes- The 4 Brembos are nice but braking is over rated. I wanna go fast.
For me, it had to have a Hemi, and being able to buy it that day. I called the dealer and asked if they had a Challenger with a Hemi, they said yes. I replied are you sure, you're not playing games to get me there. He said he was looking at it right now, only one on the lot. I replied, "I'll be there to buy it in a half hour". Got the only one he had, Redline, R/T Plus. To me it is availability. If all the dealer had was a Hellcat I would have bought that that day.
1.) Hemi
2.) availability (I want what I want when I want it)
* transmission [no manual = no Challenger]
* engine [5.7 + cam was good, 6.4 was even better]
* color [no gray/black/white for me...] '09 was Hemi Orange, '16 is Torred
* suspension
* interior/creature comforts
* brakes
