Looks Like Purple Is On For 2010

First off, this information is coming from another board member (72Hemi). For some reason this board won't let him post today. So I'm posting the info for him:

"I was just at my Dodge dealership looking at the 2010 model book and plum crazy is listed for the Challenger in 2010. There are no details on the special edition package that the color will be on other than it will be a "buzz model" whatever that means."

Personally, I'm hoping this means plum crazy 40th anniversary T/A.

Buzz model probably means they will make a certain number of them, number them, put a few decals on the car, inserts in the seat leather, a colored facia for the radio, etc, load it with options to drive the price up and charge $3000 over what a similarly equipped car would cost. Too bad they don't just list the colors you can get and let you order whatever you want to. Even if they have to collect the orders together and make a monthly run of a certain color. This instant collectible BS is for the birds.

The person this information came from, boardmember 72Hemi, is not the type of person to make stuff up. I know him from this forum and cuda-challenger.com. He is very knowledgeable about Mopars, both old and new. If there is misinformation out there I'd be willing to bet it is from the dealer who said purple is not going to be available, not 72Hemi.

Regarding "buzz models", Chrysler used that term last year to promote the Charger Super Bees.

The fleet manager at a 5 star dealership showed me his 2010 order book and it was in there, and so was the paint chip on the 2010 chip chart. This information is 100% accurate and comes directly from the factory documentation they send their dealers. Also in the book no hemi orange for 2010. Production for the 2010 Challenger slated to start production mid August. The Jeep Wrangler is getting surf blue and rescue green is being replaced with natural green.
