So I'm ready to lower my 2010 R/T and I'm looking at the mopar stage ones and the srt springs. My question is are they the same spring or not? and if not which will set the car lower
Okay, I feel compelled to speak up. I just want to throw in my experiences with lowering. I had installed the Eibach sportline kit (lower than the pro kit) and I have to tell you that it is LOW. A major pain in the rear when going over big dips in the road (has bottomed out), speed bumps MUST be taken extremely slowly (just yesterday after having them in for a few years, BIG bang when I went over one a little, and I mean little, too quickly), and other types of imperfections in the road. Does the car handle better? Maybe so, maybe not. I have strut tower braces so I can't really tell. The ride quality really wasn't affected that much but, then again, I probably don't remember. Would I do it again - no. The one great thing about lowering is that the car looks great lowered. Other than that, I'd say it was a net loss. If possible, find someone who has changed springs and go for a ride and see for yourself.
The old saying, "You don't get something for nothing" rings true. If you lower your car, you do have to be aware of various things that didn't effect a non lowered car.
A lot depends on where you live and drive, and the road conditions, types of curbs/gutters for driveways, parking lots etc.
So for some, yes, a lowered car can be a PITA, and for others no. A good point made to take into consideration.
My '16 R/T Scat Pack doesn't sit as low as my '10 R/TC did with the Stage Ones, but it sits considerably lower than the R/TC did with the stock springs.
I've only had it about a month, and at this point I have to say that I will probably not lower it anytime soon. I like the looks of the stance, it rides and handles very well, and I just don't "feel the need" to lower it like I did the R/TC.
If I had it to do over again, I would lower my old R/TC in a heartbeat, but the Scat Pack, no, as I'm really happy with it.
Stage 1 springs will get you the lowering you want without the bad side effects. I put them on mine and my front splitter still clears parking curbs and I can go over those up-flat-down "speed bumps" at 35 mph without any bottoming or scraping.
To complete the deal, go for the Bilsteins all around.
Talk to Luke at Steve White Motors (site sponsor) when you're ready to buy.
Get the stage ones. I've lowered a few cars with these springs and the owners are all happy with ride, stance and handling. None of them have had tire wear issues afterwards
So I went with the stage ones and I'm not sure. It's a little lower than I think I want but I will give it some time and see if it grows on me. I will post some pics this weekend to see what you guys think
I have the Eibach Pro Kit, shocks, springs and sway bars. 1.7" and I have never had a rub or a bottom out once. Obviously a little stiffer ride, but the handling MORE than makes up for it.
Curious if you ever took them off, or if you left them on and if so what your experience has been with them over the past month. Contemplating doing the same set on my 10RT. Appreciate the feedback.
Curious what most gaps were before switching to the Stage 1s. My 10 RT gaps look huge, measured the front at 3.25 and rear 3.5". I just purchased the Stage 1s but now I'm concerned that if I only get 1" drop it visually will still look like a truck.
Dropped the SRT an inch with KW adjustable springs last week. Top of tire about even with top of wheel well opening. Perfect setup for my needs and looks badass IMO. Same stock ride in all 3 modes with some improvement in hard cornering. Had the alignment done with the new springs and the shop said the camber was off a fuzz but shouldn't be an issue. Could go lower if desired but may need that bushing kit to fix adverse camber.
Czechman, thats an encouraging before and after. My gap might even be a bit larger than that but if it brings it down close to where yours and ArchGE are, I'll be very happy. Thanks for the input!
Alright, exploring these options. I have a 2015 R/T 6Speed non-STP, and want to put the Mopar Stage 1 springs on it. Looked at the rear shock this evening and PN is P68072163AC. I have seen so many discrepencies on if this is the self-leveling shock or not. I am all for considering upgrades to shocks and struts (other options are welcome), but the Mopar Stage 1 springs are a reasonable cost to get a better stance and maintain ride quality.
Finally got my Stage 1s installed today and could not be happier!
I had a lot of concerns that the Stage 1s would not drop it down sufficiently, but the look now is aggressive and the stance is much better. My drop seems to be more than most, 1 7/8 in the front and 1 1/2 on the rear.
New 2016 r/t with stp. Anyone know what type suspension I have or how I can look it up?
Bottomed out twice on dips I normally fly over in other cars. What is making contact with pavement?
I know its not the spoiler.
