maxcare lifetime warranty?

Hi all,

Can you give me some more details on the maxcare lifetime warranty? Is it really lifetime--as in the mileage acna go up very high? How much does it cost?

I commute very far to work each day 1.5 hours each way for a total of 3 hours--mostly on interstates.

This means I put mileage on my cars like there is no tomorrow and usually blow through warranties in the blink of an eye.

Is the lifetime warranty relevant for me?

Thanks!

As I said in another thread on this subject, I plan on buying a '14 Challenger SRT with the 6.2 SC in September with this warranty. Don't care on price, I want the car, I have the $$$$$$ so I'm buying it. Getting back to your question, there is a catch to this warranty that most people dont know about. Let's say 10 years from now you blow a motor and trans, and your car is worth only $10,000. I'm just throwing out a figure here, let's say the new motor and trans will cost $15,000 to install with labor but your car is worth only $10,000. The warranty will only cover up to the book value of your car in parts and labor for a repair, which would be $10,000. The owner will be required to pay anything over the cars book value in repair cost's. So if this was your car needing a new motor and trans, you'd have to pay $5,000 towards the repair of the car. I read that in the fine print on the Dodge website about the types of warranty that they offer.
As for cost, go to the Dodge website and the "owners" section. There you can find all the details and prices of any warranty offered from Chrysler.

Best price I've found is here...

Chrysler extended warranty, Factory backed extended warranties for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles

I have the MaxCare Lifetime warranty on my Challenger. Since they have to put a mileage limit into the computer they put in 999,999 miles, but my sales contract says "unlimited" for term and miles.

Thanks everyone for the great tips! I really appreciate it. I put so much mileage on cars that they do have problems, but knowing that there is an unlimited mileage warranty option (even if it is limited by the value of the car--thanks for that detail) is a big plus!

Thanks again to all of you. I *L*O*V*E* the look of the challengers. It is jst my ridiculous commute that is the issue.

I was just going to start a thread on this. I'm now thinking about buying one of these as well. A buddy just bought a new 2013 BOSS Laguna Seca & the Ford dealer was trying to sell him the lifetime warranty for around $1,000. He since shopped around & can get this same factory warranty for about $600.00.

What is the cost on the Dodge warranty?

I doubt if it's a factory lifetime for $1000.
5 years. 100,000 miles at cost is around there. The dealer is in business to earn a profit.

I got the Lifetime Maxcare plan from CHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACTS: Extended Warranties from Chrysler. SAVE 60%! Quick Quotes. Buy Online. and so far so good. Same as Yahooligan my warranty shows up on the dodge.com owners site and shows expiry mileage as 999,999 miles and expiry date as 2093-12-05 I checked and I paid $1800 for it. I'll probably look to get one for the Challenger as it comes up close to it's 1 year anniversary. Looks like the Lifetime warranty on the Challenger is around $2335 with a $100 deductible through Zieglar. The other link posted above by Yahooligan quoted me $2456 for a car located in California.

I don't know squat about the extended warranties......don't buy them. My 09 has the Lifetime warranty on powertrain. But..........I am definitely wanting the 14 SC SRT as well! You said September. Is that a definite or a guess because of 14s typically coming out in the fall of 13? I need to know! this car is IN MY FUTURE!

Are you aware that the SRT cars can't get lifetime coverage?
