Memorial Day weekend

Lots to do this weekend have a safe and fun weekend!
What you got planned..

Looks like I get to stain my new deck and drink(guzzle) about 2 cases of beer doing so..
Then drain and clean the hot tub and then off to Gingerman Raceway for a day or so...
Thank god summer is close the weather has been so cold here in MI thats one disadvantage living right on the lake.

I will be thinking of all who gave there lives every minute this weekend and those in active duty as well as I often do, if not for all those brave men we wouldnt be here today!

They Did Their Share

On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say "thank you" to every wearer.

Re: Memorial Day weekend

I just got done staining our deck. haha

I'm just gonna sleep! My back is killing me from the last week. Maybe hang out in the pool if it gets nice outside, head to a concert, and a good ol fashioned BBQ.

Re: Memorial Day weekend

I'm painting. We are going through a complete remodel of our downstairs. Everything including the kitchen. BTW, redoing a kitchen is not only a hassle, but the money you spend is like unbelievable! Thousands and thousands. It really does look nice though. Plus it keeps the girls happy.

Maybe I'll be able to sneak out to the saloon tomorrow.

And of course, I do remember what this day is all about. Thank you to all that are or have been in our armed services. You guys/girls are special in my mind!

Re: Memorial Day weekend

Everyone just be safe if you are out on the roads, or up on the roof! One son is flying in, and he and my other son and I are going to ride the bikes up to Madison, WI Saturday to visit my daughter, then be home for a nice bbq on Monday.

That's perfect ! Here we are all looking at , in the big scheme of things. the triviality of our toys. and exactly how we want them. There have been so many that have given their lives , and others who have put there lives on the line, and continue to do so. Without that , we would never be able to have the freedoms we do. let alone our indulgences. I see we have a few of them on this forum , currently serving. To reference another thread , about who should get their cars first; I think we all know who makes this life possible , so that's where they should go first.
NOTSURE: Thanks for that reminder of what it's all about.
