General DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the new Dodge Challenger concept. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
FYI...when I picked up my '08 a few weeks ago my dealer said he had no allocations for '09 SRT only for SE and RT. This dealer is a big SRT dealer and
also a very honest dealer.
Here in Cornwall, Ontario I'm in BX for a '09 6 speed SRT and salesman told me told me so far dealer only has SEs and RTs scheduled. Mind you I ordered June 24th.
I am still in "C" as of 11:30 a.m. this morning, central time. I have a srt8 09 6-speed orderd. saw on the dearlers screen myself. He said he is thinking early August del. mid-august del. at thet latest. I orderd mine 05-12 and have been in "C" since mid-June. I asked if he saw any restrictions or hold ups what so-ever. He spun his screen around and said nothing here nor anywhere else he has heard. I asked about his dealership reciving certain cars or if they would wait for a truck headed this way before they would sced. a del. He said they are to build the srt's and rt and chargers togather and roll them onto a carrier send them on there way. keep in mind they are the area's largest dealer. He has two unsold srt8 08's still available. he has sold 13 and just recieved his first one over the weekend. I sat in it today and i am here to tell ya, the seat and console is far superior to some of what I have seen said on the strings ,I wanted to drive off. I think he said he has a silver and a blk availble. If anyone interested send me a e-mail and I will forward his info.I asked him if this would be ok and he said no problem. These are for srt8 08's. He has not recieved yet but expects them with in two weeks. sitting in that MACHINE was beyond discription. It will make waiting worse! mark
I just got off the phone with Chrysler and I got the same response. My '09 SRT8 is on hold for material restiction - contact my dealer. I have no idea if the "material restriction" is on the part of Chrysler or dealer allocation. I'm waiting for my salesman to get in. As soon as I get some sort of a straight answer, I'll let you know.
Teflon, did you ever get a reason and if so what is the sense of it? Others have ordered the car 4-6 weeks after us and are at BX or C status. Hell I have been at BX 2 times now back to BG and told that parts issues.. what gives.. thankx!
Everyone is getting confused by what customer service people are reading off their computer screens for what the "BG" code means.
Before you get upset, talk to your dealer - or better yet, talk to us here on ChallengerTalk
The person on the phone is just regurgitating what they have on their screen as to the definition of the "BG" code.
All it means is "Valid Order - Not Available for Schedule". On their screen it probably has something like "not enough parts" as a common explanation. Remember, these folks aren't reading what BG means for the Challenger -- they're reading what BG means for ANY car.
As confirmed by Bob Frederick (and as makes sense) all BG means to us in terms of Challenger folks is that you have not yet been scheduled. Don't freak out! There isn't any parts issues. It's just a normal status level. Start breathing again
