Teflon, did you ever get a reason and if so what is the sense of it? Others have ordered the car 4-6 weeks after us and are at BX or C status. Hell I have been at BX 2 times now back to BG and told that parts issues.. what gives.. thankx!
djwhog, Although what Venthos says is true, I believe that our problem is going to be with our dealers. Apparently, for whatever reason, they do not have allocation. I called Chrysler back and there was no mention of any restrictions - just that my car was in BG status. Thursday (7/3) my car was in BX status. Today it's in BG. So, therefore, it wasn't allocated for the month of July. I'm not quite sure if the dealer himself is not putting in the allocation or if Chrysler has not allocated the car for the dealer. I can't get a straight answer from my dealer which is ever more frustrating. This is just my feeling from the things that I've picked up reading the forum.
If we are lucky enough to get allocation in August, our cars will be built in October. Keep your fingers crossed. Let me know if you hear anything more.
I hear ya loud and clear, but the mail said " on 7-3-09 We would like to inform you that as per our records, the status of your vehicle is presently "BX - good order available for scheduling".
Today on 7-7 "In response to your email, we need to inform you that as per our
records, the status of your vehicle is currently "BG - the vehicle is on
hold for a material restriction?"
So what do you think thi smeans, and I kinda do not get why someone that ordered 4-5 weeks later would be at C and I have gone back again to BG with the message.. thanks Venthos!
And Teflon, I can not get any more from the dealer, the factory rep is out on vacation so they have no more info at this point.. really sucks huh! I mean I ordered the car as soon as I could. I think 5-13 was the 1st day, I was 200 miles from home, so I ordered 1st think 5-15. I have cash for the car, but seems like i will be luck to see the car beffore winter, well In WY that starts again in Sept.. damit! really disapointed... wish I way Jay Leno, bet then I could get some help...
I'm not quite sure if the dealer himself is not putting in the allocation or if Chrysler has not allocated the car for the dealer. I can't get a straight answer from my dealer which is ever more frustrating.
Dealers get allocation based on these factors:
Past overall sales
Past SRT sales
Past 2008 Challenger sales
They are permitted a certain amount of '09 challengers per-month. Your dealer, however, hand-picks what cars they want to place into their monthly allocation. August (and what seems like September as of today) allocations have already gone out. So your dealer more than likely got at least a few allocations. If you were too far down the line other people got those allocations over you.
You'll want to find out how many cars of your trim level have been ordered, what place you are in that line, and how many allocations the dealership has gotten and plans to get. I doubt most dealers will tell you that information, they'll probably skate around it. However, that information will give you the best idea of where you are situated in line. If you're the 20th car and they only get 2 allocations for August and 2 for September, outlook isn't so good. Hopefully the dealership only took your order if they felt they could deliver on it. I know that all of our supporting vendors are good guys and that if you have an order in with any of them at all, you're set to go.
Thanks, but I am the 1st and only order they have. He did order 3 srts for stock after my order a week later. So what can I do? They still have not even got the 08 they have on order as so it is with many others stilll even waiting for the 08s to come in.
I know the rep said 2 weeks ago when she was in it was in very good order standing all looked great , approved etc.. and was at BX, then we now have the shuffle back and forth to BG again status.. waitin g and then getting pushed towards the bottom really sucks!
My dealer supposedly only had 6 SRTs on order too. I was originally the first order and from what I can see, I was bumped to #2. If that were truly the case, I guess my car would be in "C" status. To make matters worse, I pre-traded my SRT8 Charger for this car. They took my car in May and have already sold it. And I still don't have confirmation of my '09 being built. It's making me sick!
I have this whole deal in writing (with pricing and all). But I guess that's not going to stop them from making me wait.
