MOPAR Set To Invade "The Strip" At Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Center Line, Mich. - Mopars at The Strip, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 24-26, will bring the desert alive with the sounds of doorslammer excitement of years past and present. The event, the richest all-Chrysler drag racing event on the West Coast, will also present Mopar muscle enthusiasts with an opportunity to experience more horsepower off the track.

On Saturday, March 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. PST, the Mopar Performance Engineering staff will be on hand for a technical seminar on location at the Mopar Direct Connection display. The seminar will feature the installation process and components of the 5.7L HEMI crate engine. Several recently released Mopar Performance Parts will also be on display.

Following the Direct Connection technical seminar, fans will be treated to a firsthand look at the 2006 Dodge Challenger concept car.

Race fans will be able to sneak a peek at several Chrysler vehicles in the SRT family that have been 'MoPowered' by Mopar Performance Parts. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Dodge Charger SRT 8 and Chrysler 300C SRT8 will headline the display of performance power.

Following the Direct Connection technical seminar, fans will be treated to a firsthand look at the 2006 Dodge Challenger concept car. Special announcements regarding the Mopar Engine Builders Challenge will also be revealed following the technical seminars.

NHRA star Jeg Coughlin Jr., will return to the quarter-mile for Team Mopar, as he'll headline the Mopars at The Strip feature attraction known as the 12-car HEMI Super Stock Shootout. Coughlin will pilot the Michael Ogburn-owned "West Coast HEMI's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda" in the event. The former Mopar HEMI Challenge winner is no stranger to the seat, having won the popular event in the Ogburn machine in 2004.

The 2006 Mopars at The Strip event features a $35,000 purse, including $10,000 to the winner of the HEMI Super Stock Shootout. The event will be held at The Strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 24-26.
