General DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the new Dodge Challenger concept. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
If this is the new look of the Challenger...I will not buy one no matter what else they do with the rest of the car!!!! All the important proportions are changed! I sure hope Chrysler did not do with the Challenger what they did with the Charger...NOT DELIVER WHAT THEY PROMISE! This time, if these pictures are exact... I AM GONE! I sure hope Chrysler did not drop the ball again!!! We will know for sure in February 2008...but now it sure looks bad...both the car and the situation!
That nose is WAY TOO SHORT for that deck. If these photochops are accurate, all that is great about the concept is gone. It looks like any other car these days, new Mustang, etc. I was going to jump all over this car, but now I'm probably going to look at competition. The reason I would've bought this car was for that big, bad, smooth muscle car look (with a long nose). I can get performance from a number of cars. Oh well; time will tell. Hopefully the photochops are WAY off. P.S. The short nose gives it a feminine look.
Yes, this has been hit upon briefly awhile back. The Challenger Program has to be worked out and through; well enough before "that' gets out of the "Barn" !!!Still under classified status is if Burningmon's pictured design will be closely replicated;as well as $credit$ given : Let's hope so
I found this tidbit of information in a wikipedia article about Hemi engines:
"On Aug. 17, 2007, a rumor surfaced that the 2008/2009 Challenger SRT will, in fact, be powered by a 7.0L hemi engine - marking the return not only of the Challenger marquee, but also of a 426 cubic inch displacement engine. The engine reportedly will be based (loosely based) on the current hemi engines, but will feature four valves per cylinder with dual-independent variable cam timing. Reportedly, this step was needed to best the Chevrolet LS7 engine, which is slated for the 2009 Camaro redux. Performance figures for the 7.0L hemi have not been disclosed yet."
This is sorta off topic, but does anybody have information on a possible Charger redesign for '09 or later? I wonder if the new owners of Chrysler will revert back to a 2-door design and let it ride with the existing model? I'd be curious to hear if anyone has any information.

Hey does anyone know the pricing for the Challenger? I spoke to the Dodge dealer and he says they will begin taking $1000 deposit and when they are given the ok by Dodge, they will call me and then order the car, etc.
