Re: More Rumors

Functional hood scoop, keyless ignition, and Boston Acoustics audio will be available.

don't know what you want for the hood scoop, if your looking for the concept flappers.....forget it!!!, both of our cars don't have those but has something like the srt-4 caliber and srt-8 cars have.

The SRT Chargers do not have spare tires. The reason is that the standard steel donut wheel will not fit over the oversize Brembo brakes.

I know that this is a cost cutting move, but why couldn't they install mechanical (i.e., hand-release) flaps like the ones on the 1970-1971 shaker hoods)?

This sounds like it would be too simple, easy[ier], least costly for a big modern automaker to impliment . They need/want something new; an expensive design that gets them a bigger tax write-off !!! Ahhh comrades ; but just what are us troopers /Challengertalkers to do ? We couldn't expect what we were teased with for 2 1/2 years . We know that that's one of the Concept teases : to show off something so , so neat that it grabs your mind and is captured forever..pretty soon start thinkin' = Mopar or No Car ==Yeah-haaa =

I thought those flappers were one of the coolest features of the car. You would think they could just use vacuum to make them work.

Heck yehh ; they can do whatever they want. They could try to please their faithful customers; at least by option ! Heck, maybe it'll be ok .Probably won't have those exhaust deals.aka Magnaflow Muffins or whatever they're called ..make it sound real !

Chrysler will produce up to 100,000 Challenger a year, based on demand.
The first year, a 6.1 and a 6.4 will be offered.
In the second year, a 5.7 will be offered.

Source- A "connected" friend in the industry.

This information, of course, is unconfirmed but it makes sense and fits with what we have been hearing.

Oh how I hope these numbers are true. I talk to 2 Dodge dealers here in Cleveland (Ohio) and was told that the Challenger will be very limited in numbers. Something like the Viper production numbers. If the demand is there why not meet the demand. I thought car companies were in business to make money, not classics cars for the Rich Man only. By the way, both dealers wanted $5000.00 if I wanted to make a deposit.

Yes, this was posted here somewhere [I believe] ;I read that too ,somewhere . Well, low numbers for the initial SRT Challenger production . Then in a few months the next Challenger[s] will produce !! The 100,000 number I'm theorizing is for the 2009 models [5.7s and v6s] will be sold to Fleetorizers ! Be careful of those dealers/salespersons ; are like vultures you know !! Also, welcome to Challengertalk !
