General DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the new Dodge Challenger concept. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
The information on Allpar was correct when it was posted last year, but plans can and do change, just like the silver bezel that was deleted at the last minute on the 2008 SRT models. The latest information I just received no longer spec's a hood scoop for the base or R/T models.
Still not clear of the scoops are going to be functional or not, but since the 09 R/T's wont have the scoops, maybe that signals they will be functional for the SRT, which would help set it apart from the rest??

The scoops on the '09 SRT8's will be the same as on the 2008 SRT8's, what Dodge considers as "functional".
I would say it's safe to say that the base model will not have any scoops at all.
As far as the R/T model, "hood" information is still sketchy, internal advance brochure sheets once listed "functional hood scoops" but now that line has been deleted. Guess we'll know for sure pretty soon, the reveal date is fast approaching.
I thought the R/Ts were supposed to get the "functional scoops". I hope the hood gets changed on the V6 if they do this, differentiate the big boys from the rest!

From the spy photos of the R/T's we have seen it looks like they should have scoops. I guess in NY we will find out soon enough.
From the spy photos that we have seen, the R/T will have the same dual hood scoops as the SRT- but no carbon tape stripe.
Also, as previously discussed, none of the SRT hood scoops (Charger or Challenger) are truly "functional." They are not a closed ram air system but merely cool the engine.
We were just informed that the interior for 2009 will be black only; the seats in the R/T and the base model are the same, both offered in both cloth and leather (and they look similar). The design is a ribbing in the seat area with bolsters similar to the R/T package on the Charger. The cluster trim panels and center stack trim have been updated for the 2009 model year, and R/T models have Hemi badging on the side of the hood (in the same style as the SRT’s 6.1L HEMI writing). A few R/Ts have regular round exhaust pipes; others are squarish. Meanwhile, the manual shifter has a pistol-grip design as in the concept, with teh boot taking up the same space as the automatic; Reverse is all the way to the right, above sixth, with a gate from sixth gear so you go into sixth and then up to get to Reverse (it uses a modified Viper-style Tremec manual transmission). The first 2009s will apparently be built on April 14.

How can this be ? You or they mean that all 7400 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8s will all be built by April 13th ; which is on a Sunday ????????? Does Brampton work on Sundays ?I Pledge Alligance or is that Alliance ? Oh!!!

I hope to see R/T hood stripes in flat black with integrated R/T cut-outs in the middle towards the front .... and some side graphics too as optional !

So I've heard too about ribbed/rippled seats coming for R/T's - hopefully close to the Concept's I've so desired !
You mention bolsters similar to the R/T package on the Charger - can someone plz show me pics of this Charger seat ; as I have no clue what it looks like .
About the round/squarish pipes - looks likethey decided along the way to stay with the latter . Good for R/T's !
Not happy about the interior shifter boot taking same space quote as it indicates we're not getting the concept's wrap-around floor console
